How Many New Units Are There in Update 5?
According to the Update Log, here’s the breakdown:
- 10 New Units
- 7 Alternate Forms

- New Odyssey Game Mode
But not all units are obtained the same way—some come from banners, some from stages, and a few are tied to leaderboard and battle pass rewards.
1. Gem Banner Units (3 Units Total)
Roku (Angel Form)
Available directly in the Gem Banner
Evolves into Super Vegito using Potara Earrings
One of the most important units due to its powerful form tree
Gohan (Adult)
Also from the Gem Banner
Unlike Roku, doesn’t evolve—but still strong in battle
Hercule
The third and final unit from the Gem Banner

2. Legend Stage Units
Majin Buu (Buuaga Stages)
Obtained by playing the Land of the Gods legend stage
2% chance of a Secret Portal spawning after winning the stage
Buu has 6 to 7 different forms, making him one of the most complex units in the update

Best strategy: grind the easiest stage repeatedly until the portal appears
3. Leaderboard Units (3 Units)
These units are not accessible to everyone—they’re rewards for top players only.
