Alright, if you’re wondering which Shikai is the best in the Hollow Era, here’s the breakdown! From legendary flames to decent but underwhelming picks, let’s rank them in the Hollow Era Shikai Tier List.

Hollow Era Shikai Tier List – Best Abilites, Passives

Ryuujin Jakka (Legendary) – S Tier

This is THE Shikai to have. Fire, burn damage, insane AoE, and an ultimate that summons pillars of fire? Yeah, it’s as destructive as it sounds. Every ability burns enemies, dealing heavy damage over time. If you get this, you’ve won the Shikai lottery.

Abilities:

  • Z: Fire burst that flies forward, burning enemies.
  • X: Fiery slash with an explosion.
  • C: Impale enemy, then unleash fire.
  • Ultimate: Surround yourself with flaming pillars—everyone gets cooked.

Ice & Senbonzakura (Rare) – A Tier

If you don’t have Ryuujin Jakka, these two are still solid picks.

Ice

Freezing your enemies is always a good time. Some skills guarantee a freeze, others have a chance to. The mobility and crowd control here are amazing.

Abilities:

  • Z: Ice skating—literally. Anyone you touch? Frozen.
  • X: Drop an ice pillar at your cursor.
  • C: Summon an ice dragon that crashes down.
  • Ultimate: Freeze EVERYTHING.

Senbonzakura

If petal-based destruction is your thing, Senbonzakura is a great choice. Lots of multi-hit abilities and some flashy animations.

Abilities:

  • Z: Sword-formed petals hit multiple enemies before returning.
  • X: Burst of petals lifts the opponent into the air.
  • C: Petal tornado that moves forward.
  • Ultimate: Petals trap and lift your enemy—brutal.

Benihime (Uncommon) – B Tier

This one’s kinda in the middle. Not bad, but not game-breaking. The blocking aesthetic is cool, and the ultimate hits hard, but the other moves don’t stand out too much.

Abilities:

  • Z: Energy slash.
  • X: Net trap that explodes.
  • C: Three slashes toward your cursor.
  • Ultimate: Fly into the air and rain missiles—definitely the highlight.

Zangetsu – C Tier

Not terrible, but definitely underwhelming compared to the others. It’s Getsuga Tenshou spam, which is cool, but there’s not much variety.

Abilities:

  • Z: Standard Getsuga Tenshou.
  • X: Grabs an enemy with Getsuga, then explodes.
  • C: Dash forward, then slash.
  • Ultimate: Big Getsuga Tenshou, but not much else.
