This update looks small at first glance, but once you actually go through everything, it’s one of those “quietly massive” patches. There’s no huge new island or boss yet, but the amount of systems changes, balance tweaks, and future setup content is honestly kind of crazy. It’s basically a preparation update for bigger things coming next.

Grand Piece Online WHOLE CAKE PART 1.90 Update Guide

Let’s break down everything important so you actually know what matters and what you can safely ignore.

New Battle Royale Content

The biggest visible addition is the brand-new Cupid themed Battle Royale map.

This isn’t just a reskin. It’s a completely new layout designed around mobility and vertical movement. You’ll notice right away that fights feel faster and more chaotic because of how tight the zones are compared to older maps. It pushes more aggressive engagements instead of long-range waiting.

Another important change is that passive mode regeneration is now disabled in Battle Royale, which means you can’t rely on passive healing anymore. If you take damage, you actually need to disengage properly instead of just waiting it out.

This alone makes BR feel much more skill-based than before.

New Items Added

Grappling Hook

This is easily one of the most impactful additions in the update.

The Grappling Hook isn’t just a gimmick mobility tool. It fundamentally changes traversal in the main game. You can use it in places like the Trade Hub and Fish Hub, which makes moving around way faster.

To obtain it, you need to craft it using a blueprint that drops from Devil Fruit Scientists during the Factory Raid. The drop chance is only about five percent, so expect some grinding.

Once you get it though, it becomes one of those items you never want to unequip.

Cupid’s All Seeing Eye Skin

This is purely cosmetic, but it adds a themed variant to the All Seeing Eye. If you’re someone who likes collecting visual variants, this is a nice limited addition tied to the event period.

Lovestruck Rod (Limited)

This rod is tied directly to the Cupid event and will disappear once the event ends.

You obtain the blueprint through fishing, and then craft it like other special rods. Its main strength is handling speed, making it extremely strong for fast fishing sessions rather than rare drop hunting.

It’s not meant to replace Devil Fruit Rods, but for general fishing efficiency, it’s incredibly strong.

Dominus Ultimus Aura Enabled

The Dominus Ultimus now has an eye aura effect active, adding a new visual element that makes it stand out more.

Cupid Dungeon (Coming Soon)

One of the most important notes in the patch is actually something that isn’t released yet.

The Cupid Dungeon is confirmed but not live yet. This update is clearly laying the groundwork for it, so expect the next patch to focus heavily on dungeon content and possibly new gear.

New Subscription Feature

A new customization subscription called Unlimited Free Tailoring has been added.

For a monthly fee, players can customize outfits freely without needing tokens or Peli. It also includes unlimited recoloring, accessory repositioning, and an exclusive title.

This is clearly aimed at players who spend a lot of time customizing their characters.

Major Quality-of-Life Changes

This update is honestly stacked with QOL improvements that fix long-standing frustrations.

You can now swap back to Electro or Fishman Karate without paying again once you’ve mastered them. This removes one of the most annoying repeated costs in the game.

Loadouts now save fighting styles, titles, and custom accessory positioning, which makes switching builds much smoother.

Trading has also been improved, as bounty can now be traded just like Peli. The trade menu now shows clearer outlines to indicate what items were received or given in past trades.

Crafting at the Blacksmith is also faster thanks to a new quantity slider, which is something players have wanted for a long time.

Environment and Map Changes

Fish Hub now has ziplines, making movement faster and more fluid.

Whole Cake Island received updated floating balloon textures, which is a small visual upgrade but makes the area feel less outdated.

Customization also got a massive expansion with over one hundred new hairstyles, including more diverse options and anime-style designs.

Balance Changes Overview

This patch is extremely heavy on balancing, especially for Devil Fruits.

Some of the biggest highlights include major buffs to Ito, making Birdcage scale massively with mastery. Magu received strong improvements to stamina efficiency and duration. Ope had a full rework-style adjustment with multiple cooldown reductions and scaling changes.

On the other hand, several abilities were toned down to reduce frustration in PvP, especially certain stun durations and burst damage skills.

Many weapons also had their scaling standardized to match existing weapon categories, which helps keep combat more consistent.

Bug Fixes

Several major technical issues were addressed, including factory teleport bugs, Arena win screen softlocks, and FPS drops related to Birdcage.

Dummy colors were also adjusted so stunned and unstunned states are easier to read during testing.

Redeem Codes

The update also added compensation codes due to a delayed event rumbling.

RumblingDelay_1
RumblingDelay_2
RumblingDelay_3

These provide free rewards, so make sure to redeem them before they expire.

This update isn’t flashy, but it’s incredibly important.

It sets up future content, improves core systems, and fixes many long-standing annoyances. The Grappling Hook alone changes how the game feels to play, and the loadout and style swap improvements make experimenting with builds much easier.

It’s basically a foundation patch, and if the upcoming Cupid Dungeon delivers, this update will end up being remembered as the turning point that prepared the game for its next major content phase.
