Go Go Muffin Classes Guide
Auto vs Manual Effort:
Based on experiences from both beta tests and the Chinese/Taiwanese versions:
Warrior, Swordbearer (Tank): This role demands the most manual play. Players need to use skills manually to absorb damage or taunt enemies at precise moments. Failure to do so may result in being one-shot or having teammates killed swiftly.
Acolyte (Healer): This role requires slightly less manual effort than the Swordbearer. However, timing is crucial for massive heals with long cooldowns and for purging. Standard healing tends to be more automated.
Archer, Assassin, Mage: DPS Classes: These require the least manual play overall. Nevertheless, certain encounters demand focusing on additional enemies or using interrupts.
In summary, Support roles (Tank and Healer) require more skill and attention than DPS classes. However, each class has its tasks, and DPS classes are generally more forgiving.
Swordbearer and Acolyte can also be played as DPS since their DMG is often equally good if set up correct. However, if your preference is to play DPS, it is advisable not to choose Swordbearer or Acolyte. Despite joining as DPS, players will likely expect you to tank or heal, leading to potential conflicts/dissatisfaction and you ending up tanking or healing anyway.
Best DPS and Meta:
The game features multiple tiers (T) / class changes (CC). After playing for a while, your character will evolve, gaining a new set of skills that alter the playstyle. Currently, 6 tiers are confirmed, with more likely to come as the game progresses.
Due to these changes, the Meta or the best DPS constantly shifts with each tier/class change. Thus, there is no definitive best DPS. Furthermore, the game features various content that necessitates either single target DPS or area of effect (AoE) damage.
Different DPS classes excel in these areas to varying degrees. Some classes are better suited for dealing high single-target damage, making them ideal for boss fights, while others are more effective at delivering AoE damage, which is advantageous for handling groups of enemies. It is best to play the class you enjoy, keeping in mind that its effectiveness will fluctuate across tiers and content.
A good overview by Shem until T5:
- Warrior/Healer = f2p friendly, smallest population, require more skills than dps classes in dungeons in general.
- Scholar: last of dps rank until T2-T3 where it shines then goes back to last again from T4
- Archer: strong in the beginning 2nd rank from T1-T4 then becomes 1st at T5
- Assassin: strong in the beginning 1st rank from T1-T4 then becomes 2nd at T5
Decision Based on P2W/F2P:
Generally speaking, this game operates on a Pay-to-Progress model. This means that by spending money, players can achieve better rankings or meet combat power requirements more quickly.
Every class will have its share of high-spenders (whales). However, Tanks and Healers are generally more needed for most content, making it easier for them to find parties once they meet combat power requirements. Additionally, if you are a proficient Tank or Healer, you are more likely to receive invites from whale DPS players.
Ultimately, spending will give you higher places in Dragon ranking, clear rifts faster and let you clear Trials as well as Horror earlier irrespective of your class.
