So you want the Tranquility Rod. Good choice. Not because it’s broken or meta-defining… but because it’s one of the coolest rods ever added to Fisch. It turns fishing into a rhythm game and honestly feels like you’re performing instead of grinding.
This guide walks you through every fish required, where to get them, how to apply the correct mutation, and what to expect once you finally unlock the rod. I’ll also point out which parts are painful… and which ones are actually not that bad.
Let’s start from the beginning.
Where to Start the Tranquility Rod Quest
Head to Lost Jungle.
As soon as you arrive, move toward the central area until you see an NPC named Sprout with an exclamation mark above his head. You can’t miss him.
Talk to Sprout and he’ll ask you to gather a full “band” of fish. Not one or two. A full lineup. And every single one needs a specific mutation.
Important detail:
The quest says you must obtain them — not necessarily catch them yourself. That means trading works. Keep that in mind if you want to save time.
Full Fish List for the Tranquility Rod
Here’s everything Sprout wants:

- 1 Silver Great Hammerhead Shark
- 3 Abyssal Shortfin Mako Sharks
- 1 Aurora Dumbo Octopus
- 3 Sparkling Butterfly Fish
- 1 Midas Golden Seahorse
- 1 Mythical Treble Bass
- 2 Heavenly Trumpet Fish
- 1 Aurora Puffer Flute

- 1 Heavenly Siren Singer
- 1 Mythical Hidden Pipefish
Yes. It’s a marathon.
Now let’s break them down properly.
Roslit Bay Fish Requirements
A good chunk of this quest happens in Roslit Bay, so you’ll be spending time here.
Lunar Clownfish (x3)
Location: Coral Reef area in Roslit Bay
Tip: Turn on Fish Radar to see their abundance.
For Lunar mutation:
- Best option: Catch and appraise
- Limited rod options
- Very low chance during Moonlit Mirage
Honestly? Just fish normally and appraise. You need three, so expect some grind.
Mythical Clownfish
Same location as above.
For Mythical mutation:
- Mythical Rod (30% chance) – best option
- 15% chance during Rainbow
- Or appraise (low chance)
If you don’t own the Mythical Rod, grab it from the Traveling Merchant.
Lost Blue Tang
Also in Roslit Bay.
For Lost mutation:
You need the Lost Rod, which requires unlocking Ancient Archives and crafting it.
Materials:
- 3 Lapis Lazuli
- 3 Ancient Wood
- 1 Ancient Thread
Lost Rod gives 36% chance for Lost mutation.
If you don’t have Ancient Archives unlocked… trading is probably smarter.
Shark Hunt Requirements
Shark Hunts spawn randomly and are marked in pink across the map. When one appears, go immediately.
You only get one shark per hunt.
Exploded Great White Shark
- Catch during Shark Hunt
- Use Boom Ball Rod (50% chance for Exploded)
How to get Boom Ball Rod:
Explode yourself in Desolate Deep mines about 25 times.
Yes. Intentionally.
Then you unlock a secret room and can buy the rod for 50k.
Catch → release if wrong mutation → wait for next hunt if needed.
Silver Great Hammerhead Shark
Also from Shark Hunts.
For Silver mutation:
You’ll need to appraise it.
There’s no shortcut here.
Forsaken Shores Requirement
Abyssal Shortfin Mako (x3)
Location: Forsaken Shores
No specific abundance.
For Abyssal mutation:
- Rod of the Depths (30%)
- Abyssal Spectre Rod (25%)
- Abyssal Enchant (20%)
This one is manageable compared to others.
Aurora Dumbo Octopus
Back to Roslit Bay.
Rare spawn.
For Aurora mutation:
- Aurora Rod (30% if Aurora active, 15% if not)
- Aurora Bait (30%)
- 1% chance during Aurora event
Aurora Rod must be bought inside Vertigo during an active Aurora.
Sparkling Butterfly Fish (x3)
Also Roslit Bay.
For Sparkling mutation:
- Appraisal (1%, AFK method)
- Blessed Enchant (5%)
- Destiny Rod (10%)
- Various specialty rods
Most players AFK appraise these.
Midas Golden Seahorse
Location: Back of Forsaken Shores
There is a Golden Seahorse abundance here.
For Midas mutation:
Use Midas Rod (100% chance).
Traveling Merchant sells it for 55k.
This one is refreshingly easy.
Mythical Treble Bass
Location: Moosewood (near Daily Shop)
Same Mythical methods as before.
Heavenly Trumpet Fish (x2)
Location: Sunstone Island (small palm tree island backside)
For Heavenly mutation:
Use Heavens Rod (35% chance).
Getting Heavens Rod requires completing Northern Expedition.
If you don’t have it… trading might save your sanity.
Crystal Cove Requirements (The Depths)
You must access The Depths.
Inside Crystal Cove waterfall area:
Aurora Puffer Flute
Aurora mutation required.
Lunar Stringed Grouper
Lunar mutation required.
Both caught at waterfall.
Midas Spotted Drum
Location: Crowned Ruins (underwater in Tidefall)
Requires diving gear.
Apply Midas mutation same way as Golden Seahorse.
Heavenly Siren Singer
Location: Atlantis → Ethereal Abyss
You need two players to solve puzzle to unlock vault access.
Then fish inside.
Use Heavens Rod for mutation.
This is probably one of the most frustrating steps.
Mythical Hidden Pipefish
Location: Castaway Cliff
Legendary rarity.
Apply Mythical mutation.
Good luck.
Unlocking the Tranquility Rod
Return to Sprout after collecting everything.
Select “Here they are.”
You’ll unlock:
Tranquility Rod Stats
- 65% Lure Speed
- 100% Luck
- 0.15 Control
- 30% Resilience
- 8,000kg Max
Passive: 15% chance to apply Spirit mutation
It’s not meta-breaking — but it’s stylish.
Tranquility Rod Rhythm Mini-Game Explained
When you hook a fish, a rhythm interface appears.
You can change controls under:
Menu → Preferences → Rhythm Game Keybinds
Options:
- DFJK
- ASDF
- Arrow Keys
- W/D
- Gamepad
Difficulty scales with fish rarity.
Common fish = easier rhythm
Legendary = chaotic nightmare
If you miss notes, you’ll struggle to land high-tier fish.
Pro tip? Avoid arrow keys unless you’re confident.
