Blade and Soul NEO is a fresh take on the classic action-packed MMORPG, bringing updated visuals, smoother systems, and a reimagined progression path. Whether you’re new to the world of BNS or returning after a long break, this guide will walk you through essential tips to start strong and level fast, without missing what truly matters.
1. Set Up Security for a Free Buff
Before you even touch the character creation screen, enable your account’s security settings.
Why? Because doing so doesn’t just protect your account—it rewards you with an in-game buff.
How to:
- Set up OTP (One-Time Password) or device registration.
- This buff will stick with you, giving you a slight edge as you begin your journey.
2. Follow the Yellow Quests to Level Fast
Your main goal in the early game? Reach max level efficiently.
Quest Colors Explained:
- Yellow = Main Story Quests – These give the most XP.
📌 Stick to these if you’re power-leveling. - Blue = Side Quests – These often reward Valestones, which are essential for gear and skillbooks later. Worth circling back to after max level.
- Purple = Hongmoon Class Quests – Complete these to unlock skillbooks and core abilities.
- Red = Function Quests (Daily) – Do these every day for consistent progression.
3. Use Teleports to Save Time
Every quest has a little teleport icon next to it—clicking this instantly moves you to the required NPC.
No need to manually travel long distances. Take advantage of this!
4. Stuck in a Crowded Area? Swap Channels
If you’re fighting over bushes, mobs, or objectives with too many players:
- Click the top of your minimap and change to a different channel.
- Alternatively, form a party with nearby players to share kills and quest progress.
5. Field Bosses = Free Early Gear
When you find a Field Boss area (usually with lots of players around), join in!
Here’s what to do:
- Kill the boss, get the Essence drop, and go to the Wheel of Fate nearby.
- Spin it for a chance to earn Soul Shields and weapons.
- It’s temporary gear, but it’ll make the next few levels smoother.
Tip: Swap channels to farm multiple Field Bosses quickly.
6. Salvage Extra Skillbooks for Fragments
Not using a skillbook? Don’t sell it—salvage it.
Why?
You’ll get Skillbook Fragments, which you can use to craft random Skillbook chests:
- 20% chance of getting a higher-tier book.
- The rarer the fragments, the better the rewards.
Aim to do this regularly as you collect more books.
7. Start Crafting Early
Professions take hours to finish—so don’t wait until endgame.
Setup:
- Each character can learn 2 professions (get 3 alts = all 6).
- Unlocks at Level 11 after reaching Bamboo Village.
💸 Don’t buy materials early—they’re overpriced. Just gather them naturally from quests and drops.
8. Customize Your UI (Old School Style)
Want your UI to look more like classic Blade and Soul?
- Press Shift + F1 to enter UI edit mode.
- Drag and resize elements to your liking.
- Old-school players: You can recreate the legacy layout almost exactly.
9. Use the Coupon Code “THANKYOU” (If Active)
Open the Hongmoon Store (F10) > Click Wallet > Select Coupons > Register Code.
THANKYOU (valid as of video) gives:
- A free costume
- A weapon box to help boost early damage
10. Assign Training Points Wisely
Once you earn Training Points, invest them in your most-used damage skill.
- Respec is free, so feel free to experiment.
- Focus on boosting early damage output for faster leveling.
11. Boost FPS with “Silhouettes” Mode
If towns or boss fights make your PC lag, do this:
- Go to Settings > Advanced Visual Effects > Display Characters.
- Change it to Silhouettes – all characters will become shadows, improving performance significantly.
12. Don’t Waste Your Hongmoon Blessing
This is your daily stamina system.
- You get 100 Blessings per day, used when farming dungeons and field bosses.
- If you don’t use them, they’re gone the next day.
- Use them strategically for better loot runs.
13. Avoid the Valone Trap
At level 36, you’ll see a chest that costs 50 silver for a chance at 1–50 Valestones.
Don’t fall for it. The chances of getting more than 1 are incredibly low. Save your silver.
14. Bonus: Free Weapon Skin (SteelSeries)
If still available, download SteelSeries GG, make an account, and check the Giveaway tab.
You’ll receive a Dragon Knight Weapon Skin—just a fun little cosmetic to personalize your character.
