Whether you’re free-to-play or an early grinder, this setup will carry you — but there is one soul that’s absolutely required to make it truly overpowered.
Best Expedition Mode Team in Anime Rangers X (ARX)
The latest ARX update brings two new gear sets that outperform the long-standing Summer Gear:
- Valentine Gear
- Black Reaper Gear
According to the developer Adam, these are approximately 9% stronger than Summer Gear, making them the new meta for clearing high-difficulty content like Expedition.
Team Composition for Expedition Mode
This setup clears Expedition Mode in just 14–15 seconds with correct gear and one soul setup. Here’s the full team:
1. Primal Fusion (The Goat)
- Gear: Celestial Crown, Phoenix, Flippers, Trident
- Soul: Soul of Fire
2. Hana
- Gear: Summer Gear, Duplicator
- Soul: Soul of Blood
3. Omega Shenron
- Gear: Summer Gear
- Soul: Soul of Fire
4. Blood Queen
- How to Obtain: From the second summoning banner (Rate Up Boost), relatively easy pull
- Gear: Summer Gear, Wings of Valkyrie, Ethereal Lance, Blood Orb
5. Crimson Owl (Eto) – Main Carry
- Gear: Goggles, Wings, Flippers, Trident
- Soul: Any high-damage or support soul
- Note: She’s been nerfed in the past but is now back and considered the strongest DPS unit for this mode
6. Griffith
- Gear: Summer Gear, Wings of Very, Flipper, Ethereal Lance
- Soul: Souls of Infinite Riches (or regular Soul of Riches as a backup)
Important Notes About Souls
- The Soul of Blood is critical for Hana.
- The Soul of Fire is required for both Primal and Omega Shenron, but ARX does not allow equipping the same soul to multiple characters directly.
To apply Soul of Fire to both characters:
- Unequip all units.
- Equip Soul of Fire on Primal.
- Go to Omega Shenron and equip it again.
- Save the team preset before soul selection to bypass duplication restrictions.
Upgrade Priority
- Only upgrade Crimson Owl (Eto).
- She does all the heavy lifting.
- The rest of the team serves as stat boosters and soul enablers.
No other unit in this team requires any upgrades.
Expedition Performance
- With the above team and correct setup, Crimson Owl reaches 320 million ability damage.
- Expedition clears in 14 to 15 seconds on 3x speed.
- Even without the best souls, the team is viable, but less optimal.
This is currently the best expedition team in ARX as of the latest update. While some units are banner-limited, most have been around for a while, making this team mostly accessible to long-time players.
Valentine and Black Reaper gears are highly recommended to replace older Summer Gear if you’re still using it.
For newer players:
- Focus on unlocking Eto and at least one Soul of Fire.
- Use gem pulls for Blood Queen when the second banner is active.
