The re-release of Anime Ultra Verse arrives with a fresh balance pass, updated drop pools, and a new early-game progression curve, so knowing which units are worth investing in matters more than ever. This guide outlines the strongest DPS picks, the most reliable supports, and the units you can safely skip as you build toward end-game content. All rankings are based on passive effects, attack multipliers, typing synergy, and real performance shown by early access gameplay.
Top Tier – Meta DPS Units
Yukiota (Dark) – Best DPS in the Game
Yukiota stands far above every other unit thanks to his combination of raw damage and the Haunt passive. Haunt deals between five and eight percent of the unit’s damage every second, turning his already massive output into constant pressure. At high upgrade levels he can exceed 170k damage with excellent cooldown, and dark typing grants an additional ten percent when paired with another dark unit. Even without traits, Yukiota is the most reliable hard-carry in the game.
Thunderhair (Light) – Second Best Overall DPS
Thunderhair’s Voltage passive applies repeated stuns while delivering extremely high damage per hit. He thrives in light-element comps and scales exceptionally well with traits. Although his stun window is short, the constant interruption combined with high base stats makes him the most valuable event DPS unit outside of Yukiota.
Dark Moon (Dark) – Elite DPS with Perfect Synergy
Dark Moon also uses Haunt, and while his numbers are lower than Yukiota, he remains one of the best partners for dark-typed teams. His damage spikes significantly with traits and evolution, letting him break 100k damage at high levels. He is reliable, easy to understand, and a top pick for any dark comp.
Sunju (Fire) – Bleed-Based High Output
Sunju delivers powerful sustained damage through bleed, dealing ten to thirteen percent of his damage every second. He benefits massively from traits and evolution. His Bandit passive allows placing an extra copy, giving him strong lane coverage. Sunju is one of the strongest banner mythics and a top priority pickup.
Ichigo (Dark) – Entry-Level Meta DPS
Ichigo isn’t as overwhelming as Yukiota or Thunderhair, but he offers great damage per cost and is extremely easy to obtain and evolve. His stats scale well enough to clear story and mid-tier content without difficulty, making him a solid early-game staple.
High Tier – Strong DPS Picks
Shanks / Red Emperor – Best Mythic DPS from Gem Banner
Applies Bleed, deals consistent sustained damage, and remains one of the best non-secret DPS options. Players looking for a heavy hitter early in progression should prioritize him.
Venom Bloom – Strong Mythic Damage
Good output with stable scaling. While she lacks unique utility, her numbers alone make her a strong upgrade for new players building their first mythic roster.
Lone How (Dark) – Best Halloween DPS
Among the three Halloween mythics, Lone How provides the most value due to strong Haunt synergy and dark typing. Not game-breaking, but very reliable.
Demon King (Dark) – AoE Bleed DPS
Demon King stands out with consistent AoE coverage and bleed application. Works extremely well with Yukiota or Dark Moon for stacking dark bonuses.
Asta (Dark) – Good Synergy Pick
Not as strong as Sunju or Dark Moon, but benefits from being dark-typed. His damage scales well after evolution and he fits comfortably in any dark synergy team.
Allseer – Above-Average Secret DPS
Lacks a flashy passive, but strong secret-level stats alone place him in the meta DPS bracket. Outperforms many non-secret mythics.
Mid Tier – Situational or Average Units
Beerus – Solid Starter DPS
Good for progression and easy to obtain. Applies Scorch and deals enough damage to clear story stages, but falls behind late-game secrets.
Eisen – Decent but Limited
Fair damage and AoE dark type, but not meta-defining. Acceptable for early content but replaceable.
Venom Blood / Eclipse Fang
Both provide decent stat scaling but lack anything unique to push into top-tier.
Tandro, Thunder, Fire Hash
All playable but easily outclassed by higher-stat units.
Support Tier – Meta Utility Units
Wizard King – Best Support in the Game
Provides a powerful forty-five percent slow with the Gravity effect, the highest slow percentage available. A must-have for high-wave content and boss control. Even with low damage, his slow alone makes him essential.
Julius – Meta Support
Applies a thirty-five percent slow while providing AoE coverage. Slightly weaker slow than Wizard King, but better damage and synergy with light comps.
Gojo – Acceptable Support
Stun/slow based unit. Reliable, but not strong enough to be considered meta.
Bushy Brown – Low Tier Support
Offers a thirty-five percent slow, but poor DPS keeps him below stronger options.
Seagod – Good Early Slow
Applies a thirty percent freeze-style slow. Not exceptional, but valuable for early progression.
Farming Units
Bulma – Best and Only Farm Unit
Generates core economy and is mandatory for high-wave or long-form content.
Low Tier – Units to Avoid
Goku Black – Weak Scaling
Haunt passive cannot compensate for poor base stats. Falls far behind top secrets and is not recommended.
Fire Hash, Ant King (Unavailable), Other Outdated Units
Some units, like Ant King, cannot be obtained during re-release. Others simply lack the scaling needed for late-game.
