In Update 2.5 of Anime Final Strike, the long-anticipated unit Kizaru (Borsalino, the Marine Admiral of Light from One Piece) has officially entered the game. Being a mythical rarity, many expected him to be either a top-tier DPS or a utility powerhouse. The result, however, is quite mixed.
In this Anime Final Strike Update 2.5, we’ll break down his stats, abilities, strengths, and shortcomings based on in-game testing from the showcase.
Kizaru’s Passive and Mechanics
Passive: Light Acceleration
Kizaru comes with a scaling passive called Light Acceleration, which improves his performance the more he attacks. Here’s how it works:
- Every 5 attacks:
- Gains +2% Range
- Gains -2% Seconds Per Attack (SBA)
- These bonuses stack up to 25% max in each category.
Effectively, this means Kizaru can gain up to 25% increased range and attack faster by 25% after enough hits. On paper, this is a strong passive, especially when combined with his crowd control potential.
Stun Effect
Kizaru’s attacks apply a stun to all enemies hit, lasting 1.2 seconds. This prevents enemies from moving temporarily, which is useful for:
- Delaying boss progression
- Controlling waves of faster mobs
- Supporting other high-damage units
The stun does not work globally or through map-wide effects. It only applies to enemies directly hit within his attack range.
Attack
Initial Attack
Kizaru’s base attack animation features a single-target light beam. While visually impressive, the damage output is underwhelming:
- Damage: Approximately 5,000 per hit
- Attack Rate: 2.3 seconds (before passive scaling)
- Effect: Applies 1.2s stun
Despite being a mythical unit, this level of damage output is closer to what you’d expect from lower-tier legendary units, not mythicals.
Upgrade: Light Barrage
Upon upgrading, Kizaru gains a second move called Light Barrage, which adds a multi-hit light beam animation. The key details:
- Rapid fire-style visuals
- Minimal increase in damage
- No significant AoE or explosive impact
- Stun effect remains present
Visually it’s impressive, but functionally, Light Barrage does little to improve his value. There is no major spike in damage or scaling that would justify his mythical status.
Major Issues with Kizaru
Low Damage Output
The most glaring issue with Kizaru is the damage. Despite being labeled a mythical unit, he only deals around 5,000 damage per hit, which is far too low given the current game meta.
Most mythicals in Anime Final Strike, even at level one, deal significantly more. Compared to top-performing units like Whitebeard or Ace, Kizaru falls drastically short.
Limited Placement
Kizaru is limited to only two placements per game, which is typically reserved for units with overpowered potential. However, in his case, this only further restricts his already questionable utility.
Possibly Bugged
There’s speculation that Kizaru’s low numbers could be the result of a bug or oversight in the update. It’s unusual for a unit of this rarity to perform at such a low baseline, especially considering his visually complex effects and passive stacking design.

SORRY4DELAY
Kizaru was clearly designed with potential in mind. His passive scaling, unique light-based effects, and built-in stun utility all suggest that he could have been a meta contender. However, due to extremely low damage output and limited placement, he currently feels like a letdown.
Unless a buff or hotfix is issued soon, Kizaru is not recommended for serious players looking to clear higher-level content efficiently.
Avoid investing resources in Kizaru unless you are collecting for visual appeal or personal preference. As of Update 2.5, he is not meta, and there are better units to prioritize in both damage and utility roles.
If his damage numbers are later confirmed to be bugged, this guide will be updated accordingly. Until then, treat Kizaru as a flashy, but ultimately underperforming, mythical unit.
