Allusions 2 Tier List Guide – Best Character Ranking

If you’ve been grinding Allusions 2 lately, you’ve probably noticed something: some characters feel insanely oppressive, while others require way more effort just to stay competitive. That’s not your imagination. The current 1v1 ladder meta heavily favors characters that can either snowball momentum quickly or force opponents into bad decisions.

This guide breaks down the current competitive tier list and explains why each character lands where they do. Instead of just throwing letters next to names, we’ll talk about how these characters actually perform in real matches — the strengths, the weaknesses, and what makes them dangerous.

Think of this as a conversation between players who’ve spent too many hours learning matchups.

S+ Tier

These characters shape how the entire game is played. When you fight them, you’re not just playing your own game anymore — you’re playing theirs.

ABA

Let’s start with the queen of the current meta.

ABA is one of those characters where a single mistake can cost you the entire round. Her 52 speed stat already makes her extremely hard to control in neutral, but what really makes her terrifying is how safe and oppressive her pressure becomes once she starts rolling.

One of the biggest problems opponents face is Bonding. It’s safe on block and absolutely destroys shields. That means defensive players can’t just rely on blocking or X-shielding to survive. Guess wrong once and you’re immediately put on the back foot.

Then comes Moroa Mode, which is where things really get unfair. Once ABA enters this state, she gains hyper armor and access to guard breaks that allow her to skip neutral interactions completely. If the player manages their withdrawal stocks correctly, one confirmed hit often leads to a full momentum chain.

At high level play, a good ABA doesn’t just win rounds — she locks opponents into a losing situation before the fight even properly begins.

S Tier

These characters don’t quite break the game like ABA, but in the right hands they are terrifying.

Slayer

Slayer thrives in the current counter-hit heavy meta.

In Allusions 2, counter hits are devastating, and Slayer is built around exploiting impatient players. He punishes aggression incredibly well, often using subtle movement like backward stepping into frame traps.

Players who try to mash their way through pressure quickly learn the hard way that Slayer turns mistakes into huge damage sequences.

One move that really defines his gameplay is Blood Sucking Universe. Once this lands, the next hit becomes a guaranteed counter hit, which frequently leads into combos that remove half of the opponent’s health bar.

The scary part about Slayer isn’t long combos or flashy mechanics — it’s the psychological pressure. The longer the fight goes, the more you start hesitating, and that hesitation is exactly what Slayer players want.

Yomu

Yomu is essentially a momentum monster.

Once she activates Blossom Stocks, the entire fight becomes an area-control nightmare for the opponent. Her pressure becomes layered, forcing players to constantly guess between multiple threats.

One of her strongest tools is Reincarnation, which might be one of the most overloaded movement abilities in the game. It provides:

  • Invincibility frames
  • An explosive detonation
  • Healing
  • Phantom blade pressure

That combination makes it extremely difficult to punish her movement or regain control of the fight.

Yomu also has stance mechanics that create pseudo frame traps, meaning even blocking correctly can still put you in danger.

Against experienced Yomu players, the only real counterplay is forcing them to whiff or denying stance entries. Unfortunately, that’s much easier said than done.

A Tier

These characters reward solid fundamentals and consistent play.

Akatsuki

Akatsuki is one of the most honest characters in the game.

He doesn’t rely on gimmicks, installs, or crazy mechanics. Instead, he wins through strong fundamentals and reliable confirms.

Landing Earthbreaker into Armor Breaking Kicks provides extremely consistent damage output, especially when backed by proper meter usage.

His Helmet Crusher also adds valuable guard break pressure, allowing him to threaten defensive players without needing risky setups.

The reason he sits in A tier instead of S is simple: he plays fair. While he’s strong in almost every situation, he doesn’t have the same neutral-skipping tools that the top tiers abuse.

Still, if your fundamentals are good, Akatsuki is a very stable pick.

Kenro

Kenro is one of the most volatile characters in the game due to his Star mechanic.

When he builds up three stars, his threat level skyrockets. Suddenly his damage and pressure become extremely dangerous, forcing opponents to respect every interaction.

Things get even scarier when Kenro drops below 20 HP, activating his Hiaku Kken execution potential. This mechanic makes his comeback ability incredibly strong — opponents can’t afford to relax even when they have a health advantage.

The main drawback is that without stars, Kenro plays a relatively straightforward mid-range game. He’s solid, but not overwhelming.

Naashiki

Naashiki might have the highest skill ceiling in Allusions 2.

Players who truly master his mechanics can make him look like an S-tier character. His Sweet Getsu feints and air follow-ups allow for extremely tricky mixups, constantly forcing opponents to guess.

Another powerful aspect of his kit is the ability to refresh his double jump, which opens up creative combo routes and unpredictable movement patterns.

The downside is the risk factor. If opponents successfully call out the startup of Sweet Getsu, Naashiki becomes extremely vulnerable. Because of this high risk, he lands in A tier despite his potential.

B Tier

These characters have solid tools but noticeable weaknesses.

Akuma

Akuma has some of the best mobility and damage potential in the roster. On paper, that sounds amazing.

The problem is his 65 HP. In high level matches, that low health pool becomes a huge liability. One mistake against a heavy hitter can end the round almost instantly.

Some of his moves, like Goreyu and Tatsiwaki, are also very punishable if the opponent understands the matchup.

This makes him dangerous but fragile — a high-risk pick that requires careful play.

Byakuya

Byakuya becomes terrifying once his web setups start working.

His pressure can feel overwhelming, especially when combined with empowered dodge resets that allow for creative offensive loops.

However, he struggles heavily in raw neutral situations. If aggressive players stay close and prevent him from setting up properly, his options become much more limited.

Another challenge is the execution barrier. Managing his setups while maintaining pressure requires constant focus and precision.

Kane / Rast

Kane (Rast form) is one of the most flexible characters thanks to his form switching mechanics.

Rast provides safe pressure options that can slowly wear down opponents, while Shadow Assassin form brings speed and burst potential.

The real issue comes from resource management. Every mistake drains valuable resources, and if a big move whiffs, the punishment can be brutal.

In longer matches, maintaining that resource balance becomes a serious challenge.

C Tier

These characters can work, but they require significantly more effort than the rest of the roster.

Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright is the definition of a win-more character.

If he manages to enter Turnabout Mode, the character becomes incredibly powerful. At that point, the pressure and damage can feel overwhelming.

But getting there is the real problem.

The investigation phase leaves him extremely vulnerable. Skilled opponents will simply deny evidence opportunities and apply constant pressure, effectively forcing Phoenix Wright to play with very limited tools.

In many matches, he’s essentially fighting at a disadvantage until Turnabout activates.

Patchouli

Patchouli is built around zoning and resource management.

Her projectiles and spacing tools can be very strong when used correctly, but they come with a heavy mental load. Players must constantly track both mana and fatigue, turning each match into a resource-management challenge.

If rushdown characters manage to close the distance, Patchouli struggles to push them away again.

Because of this, she often requires perfect positioning just to stay safe.

D Tier

Jetstream Sam

Jetstream Sam is one of those characters that feels amazing when things work… but that’s the problem.

His deflect mechanic is incredibly satisfying and can punish reckless opponents. The issue is that experienced players simply stop giving him those opportunities.

His slow walk speed also makes neutral very difficult, allowing faster characters to control spacing and pressure him more easily.

At high level play, relying on opponents making mistakes isn’t a reliable strategy.

Jetstream Sam can still win matches in the hands of specialists, but compared to the rest of the roster, you’re definitely playing the game on hard mode.

Right now, the Allusions 2 competitive scene is heavily influenced by characters that can control neutral or snowball momentum quickly.

ABA sits comfortably at the top because she does both. Slayer and Yomu follow closely thanks to their ability to punish mistakes and overwhelm defensive players.

Meanwhile, characters that require heavy setup or resource management tend to fall behind in fast-paced competitive matches.

That doesn’t mean lower-tier characters are useless. In the hands of dedicated players who truly understand their matchups, even B- or C-tier characters can surprise stronger picks.

But if your goal is climbing ranked or winning tournament sets, choosing a character that works with the meta rather than against it can make a massive difference.
