If you’re just starting out in the new Jujutsu Kaisen-inspired Roblox game “Heian,” this Heian Beginner Guide will walk you through everything you need to know—from leveling fast to unlocking cursed techniques and progressing like a seasoned sorcerer.
Getting Started: What You Need to Know First
When you first load into Heian, you’ll notice one thing right away:
There’s absolutely no tutorial. That means the game expects you to figure things out yourself. But don’t worry—we’ve got you covered.
As you spawn in, you’ll see key NPCs around:
- Blacksmith – Used for crafting weapons and armor.
- Merchant – Sell trinkets and loot.
- Bounty Board – Pick up missions.
- Reputation Trader – Exchange your rep for certain upgrades.
- Barber – Purely cosmetic.
These will become crucial as you begin to explore the world.
Combat Basics & Keybinds
Combat in Heian is dynamic and combo-based. To view keybinds, go to Settings (top-left of your screen).
Here’s a quick breakdown:
- M1 (Click) – Basic attack
- Space + M1 – Aerial attack
- Space + Aim Down – Down slam
- Run + M1 – Running attack
- CTRL + M1 – Up tilt (great for air combos)
- Parry – Timed block for counters
- Left Click + Right Click – Additional combo variations
Mastering these early on helps you win fights and complete quests faster.
How to Level Up Quickly
Leveling is done in two main ways:
- World Exploration
Roam the map and defeat random NPCs to earn EXP and loot chests. - Mission Board (TAB Key)
PressTAB
to open the quest menu and choose missions like:- Rescue Hostage
- Defeat Bandits
- Escort Missions
Each mission rewards:
- EXP
- Reputation (used for crafting)
- Chests (drop gear, schematics, weapons)
✅ Tip: Missions also grant Skill Points, which you’ll need to upgrade stats and unlock abilities.
Stats Explained: What Each One Does
When you level up, you’ll get skill points to spend. Here’s what each stat affects:
- Agility – Boosts climbing and wall scaling.
- Vitality – Increases your HP.
- Strength – Boosts melee/fist damage and some weapon scaling.
- Curse Energy – Raises your energy pool and slightly improves cursed technique damage.
- Curse Output – Boosts cursed technique damage and reduces curse energy cost.
🎯 Pro Tip: Don’t go all-in on one stat too early. Balance offense and defense for smoother progression.
Skill Tree & Ability Management
Press M
to access your Skill Tree. Based on your stat investment (like 40 Strength), you’ll unlock relevant abilities.
You can:
- Enable/Disable abilities: Left-click to select, double-click to activate/deactivate.
- Free up space: Disable unwanted abilities to make room for new cursed techniques or skills.
⚠️ Important:
Some trainers won’t teach you new skills if your skill slots are full. Always disable unused ones first.
🛠️ Crafting & Blueprints
To craft gear, you’ll need:
- Blueprints (drop from chests or missions)
- Reputation (earned via missions)
How to craft:
- Visit a Blacksmith.
- Choose “Need Forge Items” (Option 3)
- Click “Unlock Recipes”
- Select your unlocked blueprints and craft if you have the required materials and reputation.
Weapons and armor vary—some offer better scaling, resistances, or passive bonuses.
Fast Travel: Runestones
The map is huge, but thankfully there’s a fast travel system using Runestones.
To use them:
- Look for Runestones scattered across the world.
- Once activated, you can teleport instantly between major biomes like:
- Snow Biome
- Forest
- Other Combat Zones
When you see a “Curse Sense” ping about nearby Runestones, don’t ignore it—they’re incredibly helpful.
Cursed Techniques & Fighting Styles
You can unlock:
- 1 Cursed Technique
- 1 Fighting Style
These are learned from trainers found throughout the world. Some examples of cursed techniques include:
- Flame Arrow
- Ice Spikes
- (More to be added in future updates, including Domain Expansions)
🚨 Note: You won’t be able to learn a cursed technique if all skill slots are filled—disable unused skills first in your skill tree (
M
).
