Just a quick and dirty ANEURISM IV Fate Upgrade Phantoms guide to where the role upgrades are because I’ve been asked about it a few times in-game. I might be missing a few spots. If you’re fully new to the game, Anamnecytes are Good Boy Points you get for performing a role’s tasks. For instance, Proles who work in the Laundromat, War Factory, Ration Factory, Metalworks, etc. get given them.
ANEURISM IV Fate Upgrade Phantoms and Where to Find Them
Limitator
Temu Jin-Roh Panzer Cops. Show disdain for the plebs even though you can get this role with one stint at the War Factory’s worth of Anamnecytes and it’s the easiest class in the game.
25 Anamnecytes. Requires Controller. Found in the Nexus building by the armoury.
Banker
Fancy dresser. Charge absurd rates and laugh in the faces of the plebs that depend on you. Funnel your money into Machine Trinkets and flood the Scum with them to make life terrible for everyone else.
10 Anamnecytes. Requires Dealer. Up the steps from the Civic Center in the Myellin Plaza (place with the memorial pillar, the ATM and the apartment), just by the railed overlook with the camera.
Sanitar
You’ve been drafted. Battle Jannies. Still expected to fix everything but now you have a rifle and a target on your back.
10 Anamnecytes. Requires Liquidator. During the War Time event, either go to the Nexus entrance by the Civic Center in the War Factory district or get deputised by a Controller or Limitator (free).
Entrance.
Phantom. Be careful not to go any further or you’ll get shot by the auto turret. Of course, it’s not a problem once you are a Sanitar. Come on in and see how dreary the Cortex HQ is.
Zealot
Lead your very own cult. Do the devil’s work. Sacrifice the hapless to your dark pit gods. Make the city yucky with the scrote sacks. Smell bad. Instigate the funny mass RDM event (Darkness).
15 Anamnecytes. Requires Scumbag. Middle passageway of the three passages in the hub (has the huge pit in the middle that isn’t the talking pillars sacrifice pit) that connects the Scum bases.

Rogue
When for some reason abusing your authority as a mall cop wasn’t satisfying your sadism quite enough. Or maybe you just like to be told what to do by smelly sewer dwelling men in robes.
Costs 8 Anamnecytes. Requires Controller. Found in the Scum Base connected to the Bazaar/Wartime District entrance. Once you’re past the cult’s gate (they have to let you in first) go down a floor on the central staircase, turn left, and it’s down the hall left of the sacrificial pit. The phantom is by the stolen Cortex armoury.
Bonus: Not a role upgrade, but “How do I get the other guns as Controller/Sanitar/Limitator?”
This gets asked every so often so I thought I’d throw it in at the end. It’s quite simple really: do your job. Do the patrols from neuroconsoles, seize contraband, pulp bad guys. When you look at your inventory, you can see your current rank (the number), which goes up in ascending order. I don’t know the exact ranks, but just keep doing the right thing and eventually you’ll get your shotgun and SMG. Found at the armoury in the Nexus.
