Breaking down Mothman in Grow a Garden
How to get
Mothman can be acquired from Haunted Chests with a 0.5% drop chance. These chests are rewards from the Headless Horseman’s rewards system, triggered by collecting and returning his head. Upon doing this, the Horseman rides around, showering the map with blue wisps.
Gather 50 blue wisps to claim rewards, which may include one or multiple Haunted Chests. Below is a breakdown of the odds for receiving Haunted Chests through this rewards system.
| Haunted Chest Reward | Drop Rate |
|---|---|
| 1x Haunted Chest | 18% |
| 2x Haunted Chests | 11% |
| 3x Haunted Chests | 3.5% |
Overall, there’s a 32.5% chance to obtain a Haunted Chest from this system. You can access the Headless Horseman reward process every 30 minutes, allowing for multiple attempts as long as the event is running.
What it does
The powerful nature of Mothman reflects its Divine rarity. Its passive ability occurs every 36 minutes and 40 seconds, flying to three random fruits and copying up to three Mutations from one fruit to another.
During this process, there’s a 10% chance for a Mutation to be copied rather than transferred. If successful, a pet in your garden gains 2,000 XP. This is an excellent outcome, enhancing your farm’s overall productivity.
Mothman is best utilized in late-game farms designed to maximize the value of specific fruits. With some randomness involved, you can optimize the process by managing your fruit variety and employing other pets that apply Mutations too.
