The main part of the Anniversary event starts at the Birthday Cake connected to Moosewood.
This is where you will find the special Icing Pool, which is used to submit your Anniversary catches and make progress through the event.
Once you have an eligible Anniversary fish, you can bring it back to the Birthday Cake and put it into the Icing Pool.
How the Icing Pool Works
The Icing Pool is one of the most important parts of the second Anniversary event.
You need to submit your Anniversary catches into the pool to make progress toward the Birthday Cake rewards.
When you submit eligible fish, you can receive rewards such as:
- Cupcake Bait
- XP
- Candle progress
- Other Anniversary rewards
The important part is that unique species are what count toward the candle progression.
So, if you are trying to light every candle, focus on collecting different Anniversary species rather than repeatedly catching the same fish.
How to Light the Anniversary Candles
The Birthday Cake has a series of candles that you need to light during the event.
Your Anniversary catches are used to progress through this system.
Bring your event fish to the Birthday Cake and submit them into the Icing Pool. As you turn in unique species, you will make progress toward lighting the candles.
The candles are important because they eventually lead to the event’s biggest reward: the Birthday Candle Rod.
How to Get the Birthday Candle Rod
The Birthday Candle Rod is one of the main rewards available during the Fisch second Anniversary event.
To get it, you need to light all of the candles at the Birthday Cake.
This means you will need to participate in the Anniversary event, catch the required unique species, and submit your catches through the Icing Pool.
Once every candle has been lit, you can claim the Birthday Candle Rod.
Because this is a limited-time event, make sure you complete the candle progression while the Anniversary content is available.
Birthday Candle Rod Special Ability
The Birthday Candle Rod has a special candle mechanic.
After getting the rod, you can relight its candle while fishing.
The candle can eventually ignite your fish, giving the rod a unique effect compared with normal fishing rods.
Another important part of the mechanic is the cake drop.
When a cake drops onto a lured fish, it provides a large amount of progress toward the candle.
This means you can speed up the candle mechanic by taking advantage of the cake drops you encounter while fishing.
Anniversary Pools
The second Anniversary update also introduces Anniversary Pools that appear periodically around the ocean.

The Anniversary Pools feature the special Birthday Leviathan.

New Anniversary Fish Variant
The event is also scheduled to receive another fish variant on October 5.
