Yhwach, the Quincy King, is one of the major additions in the latest Reign Piece update. His obtainment requires completing Ichibe’s contract, collecting Reiatsu Clusters, crafting the Odin Key, and eventually farming Yhwach himself in the Soul King Palace.
You’ll also need the Quincy King race to unlock Yhwach’s final G skill.
Here is the full progression from start to finish.
Reign Piece Yhwach Guide – How to Obtain Quincy King
The Yhwach obtainment process can be broken down into these steps:
- Go to Royal Palace.
- Talk to Ichibe and accept his contract.
- Complete the contract requirements in Hueco Mundo.
- Complete the required raids and collect the Oken Fragments.
- Obtain 15 Reiatsu Clusters.
- Go to Shibuya and craft the Odin Key.
- Enter the Soul King Palace.
- Farm the mobs for Blood Fiend.
- Use Blood Fiend to spawn the Yhwach Boss.
- Farm Yhwach until you have the required materials to unlock his spec.
Step 1: Complete Ichibe’s Contract
Start by traveling to the Royal Palace.
You’ll find the Soul King Palace area and the Ichibe NPC. Talk to Ichibe to begin the contract required for Yhwach’s obtainment.
Most of the early contract requirements take place in Hueco Mundo, so you’ll be spending a good amount of time there.
The first part involves defeating the required bosses. Completing these objectives also helps progress toward the next requirements.
Step 2: Farm the Ichigo Raid
Once you reach the appropriate stage of the contract, you’ll need to run the Ichigo Raid on Hard Mode.
The Hard Mode raid can drop Oken Fragments, which are needed for the progression.
You can work on multiple objectives at the same time, so it’s worth clearing the raid while you’re completing the other Hueco Mundo requirements.
The Hueco Mundo raid area can also have some annoying visual issues, including the darkness bug, but the important part is simply getting through the required runs and collecting the fragments.
Step 3: Get 15 Reiatsu Clusters
After completing the earlier requirements, you’ll need to collect 15 Reiatsu Clusters.
There are several ways to obtain them:
- Rank Cards — have a low chance of dropping Reiatsu Clusters.
- Ulquiorra Boss — has a considerably better drop chance.
- Aizen Boss — provides an even better chance.
- Stark Raid — another available source.
Best Way to Farm Reiatsu Clusters
The most efficient option mentioned in the video is farming the Aizen Boss.
Rather than relying on the low chance from Rank Cards, repeatedly defeating Aizen gives you a much better opportunity to collect the 15 clusters you need.
Once you have all 15, you can move on to the next stage.
Step 4: Craft the Odin Key
Head to Shibuya after completing the required contract objectives and collecting the Reiatsu Clusters.
Find the crafting NPC and use your materials to craft the Odin Key.
Once the Odin Key has been crafted, you’ll be able to access the Soul King Palace.
Step 5: Enter the Soul King Palace
With the Odin Key ready, enter the Soul King Palace.
The mobs inside the area are important because they can drop the Blood Fiend material.
You’ll need to farm these enemies until you’ve collected enough Blood Fiend for the next stage of the Yhwach obtainment.
Step 6: Spawn and Farm Yhwach
After obtaining Blood Fiend, you can use it to spawn the Yhwach Boss.
This is the final major farming stage.
Defeat Yhwach repeatedly and collect the materials he drops. Continue farming the boss until you’ve obtained everything required to unlock Yhwach’s spec.
Once the required materials are collected, you’ll be able to obtain Yhwach.
Yhwach Moveset
Yhwach’s basic moveset is available when you first obtain the spec, but the G skill is locked.
To unlock it, you need to obtain the Quincy King race.
The rest of Yhwach’s moves can be used without completing the race requirement.
How to Get the Quincy King Race
To unlock the Quincy King race, find the Hashwalth NPC.
Talk to Hashwalth and complete his contract. The contract is relatively straightforward compared to the earlier Yhwach requirements.
Once you’ve finished it, you’ll be able to progress toward the final skill.
How to Unlock Yhwach’s G Skill
After completing Hashwalth’s contract, find the Gerard NPC.
Gerard provides the contract for Yhwach’s G skill.
Complete his requirements and you’ll unlock the final ability.
Your progression is therefore:
Yhwach Spec → Hashwalth Contract → Quincy King Race → Gerard Contract → G Skill
Is Yhwach Worth Getting?
Yhwach has a strong moveset and is a solid spec overall.
However, the video rates him below Kokushibo in terms of overall performance. Even so, Yhwach is far from a bad addition, and his moveset makes him worth obtaining if you want to collect and use the newer powerful specs.
There is also a Yhwach NPC with quests related to him, although these aren’t necessary for the main obtainment process.
