A brand-new update has arrived in Survive Zombie Arena, and there’s quite a bit to check out this time. We have new codes, a brand-new Battle Pass, craftable crates, new weapons, and an entirely new pirate-themed map.

The biggest addition, though, is definitely the Pirate Boss, which doesn’t even show up until Wave 75. In this guide, I’ll go through everything added in the update and explain how the new crate system works, what you can get from it, and how to take down the new boss.

Survive Zombie Arena Pirate Boss Update – New Crates, Codes

Before getting into the update itself, make sure you redeem the new codes.

The codes shown in the update give you:

  • 200 Gold
  • 200 Credits
  • Additional resources

If you’re starting the update with limited resources, redeeming the codes first is a good idea because the extra currency can help you get started with the new systems.

Keep in mind that Roblox codes can expire, so it’s always worth redeeming them as soon as possible.

New Battle Pass

The update also adds a brand-new Battle Pass.

You can purchase the premium version using Robux, but you don’t necessarily need to buy it just to participate in the new content.

The Battle Pass includes commissions that you can complete to earn XP.

As you gain XP, you’ll progress through the Battle Pass and unlock the new crates and other rewards.

So if you’re already playing regularly, completing the available commissions is a good way to make progress without simply relying on the premium track.

New Crate System

One of the biggest changes in this update is the new crate system.

Instead of simply opening crates in the same way as before, you now have to collect resources while playing.

The basic process is:

  1. Enter a game.
  2. Kill zombies.
  3. Collect resources.
  4. Use those resources to craft crates.
  5. Open the crates.
  6. Try your luck at getting the new weapons and other rewards.

There is also a dedicated area in the lobby where you can view and interact with the new crates.

How to Craft the New Crates

Once you’ve collected enough resources, head back to the lobby and open the crate crafting interface.

You’ll be able to select the crate you want to craft.

After crafting it, you can open the crate and see what reward you’ve received.

The important thing to remember is that the best rewards have extremely low drop rates, so don’t expect to get the rare weapons from your first few crates.

You’re going to need quite a bit of farming if you’re trying to collect everything.

New Crate Rewards

The new crates contain several different types of rewards.

These include:

  • New weapons
  • A new class
  • Credits
  • Resources
  • Other event rewards

The standout reward is the Cursed Cutlass.

Its listed drop chance is only 0.01%, so this is going to be one of those weapons that takes a serious amount of grinding to obtain.

If you don’t get it quickly, don’t worry. With a drop rate that low, failing to get it from several crates is completely normal.

Cursed Cutlass Drop Chance

The Cursed Cutlass has a 0.01% chance of appearing from the new crate.

That’s extremely rare.

If you’re trying to get it, the best strategy is simply to maximize how many crates you can craft rather than expecting one lucky opening to solve everything.

Farm resources efficiently, craft as many crates as possible, and keep opening them.

The update also suggests that some of the new weapons may have additional ways of being obtained, including the new Pirate Boss.

New Private Cove Map

The update introduces a completely new map called Private Cove.

You can select Private Cove from the map menu, and it takes you to a pirate-themed area featuring a large pirate ship.

The map introduces several new enemies and resources, making it more than just a visual change.

If you’re trying to farm the new crafting materials, this is one of the areas you’ll want to spend some time exploring.

New Pirate Zombies

Private Cove also introduces Pirate Zombies.

These enemies can be defeated for resources used in the new crate system.

There are also barrels scattered around the map that you can open.

These barrels can contain Wood, which is another resource required for crafting the new crates back in the lobby.

So, while you’re playing Private Cove, don’t focus only on killing zombies. Check the environment and open the barrels whenever you see them.

Pirate Boss Appears at Wave 75

The biggest challenge on Private Cove is the new Pirate Boss.

However, you’re not going to encounter him immediately.

The Pirate Boss appears at Wave 75.

That means you’ll have to survive through a long run before you even get a chance to fight him.

Because of this, make sure you’re properly equipped before attempting to push all the way to Wave 75.

Pirate Boss Health

The Pirate Boss is extremely tanky.

He has around 700,000 HP, so beginner weapons are going to struggle against him.

If you’re still using early-game equipment, you may have a very difficult time dealing enough damage before the boss overwhelms you.

I’d strongly recommend bringing one of your strongest end-game weapons if you’re specifically farming the boss.

Pirate Boss Attacks

The Pirate Boss isn’t just a giant health bar either.

He has some dangerous abilities that can make the fight much harder.

One of his most noticeable attacks can freeze you in place.

Once you’re frozen, he can follow up with another attack while you’re unable to move.

The boss can also summon ghost minions, giving you additional enemies to deal with during the fight.

So, don’t tunnel vision on the boss’s health bar. Pay attention to the smaller enemies and be ready to reposition when necessary.

How to Beat the Pirate Boss

The most important thing is your weapon.

Bring one of your strongest guns rather than relying on beginner equipment.

A good strategy is to keep your distance whenever possible and continue dealing damage while watching for the boss’s freezing attack.

If you’re playing with other players, having multiple people focus on the boss can make the fight much easier because you can deal damage consistently without relying on a single player.

You should also avoid getting surrounded by the ghost minions.

The boss has a huge health pool, so the fight is more about surviving long enough to deal consistent damage than trying to burst him down instantly.

Pirate Boss Rewards

Defeating the Pirate Boss gives you the standard boss rewards, including:

  • 2,500 Credits
  • 500 in-game currency/resources

More importantly, the boss also has a chance to drop the new weapon.

However, the drop chance appears to be very low.

So if you’re specifically trying to obtain the boss-exclusive weapon, prepare for a serious grind. Since the boss only appears at Wave 75, every failed attempt represents a significant amount of time.

Best Way to Farm the New Update

If you’re trying to make efficient progress through the update, I’d recommend combining your farming rather than focusing on only one reward.

Start by using the new codes to collect your free resources.

Then play the new map and focus on:

  • Killing zombies for resources.
  • Opening barrels for Wood.
  • Completing Battle Pass commissions.
  • Crafting crates in the lobby.
  • Opening crates for the new weapons.
  • Building a strong enough loadout to reach Wave 75.
  • Defeating the Pirate Boss for its rewards and potential weapon drop.

This way, you’re progressing toward multiple rewards at the same time.

Is the Cursed Cutlass Worth Grinding For?

The Cursed Cutlass is definitely going to be a difficult weapon to obtain.

With a 0.01% crate chance, you shouldn’t expect to get it quickly.

The Pirate Boss also has a chance to drop the new weapon, but since reaching Wave 75 takes time, this route is also going to require patience.

If you’re a completionist, though, the grind is probably going to be worth it simply because of how rare the weapon is.

The new Survive Zombie Arena update adds a lot more to work toward.

The new crate system gives you a reason to keep farming resources, while the Private Cove map adds a completely new environment with Pirate Zombies, resource barrels, and the Wave 75 Pirate Boss.

The biggest challenge is obviously the boss. With around 700,000 HP, freezing attacks, and ghost minions, you’ll want to bring your strongest weapon rather than trying to take him down with starter equipment.

The Cursed Cutlass is also going to be a serious grind thanks to its 0.01% crate chance.

So, redeem your codes, start farming resources, craft those crates, and work on building an end-game loadout. Once you’re strong enough, make your way through Private Cove and see if you can survive all the way to Wave 75.
