If you’re trying to figure out how to get the Dragon of Life in Creatures of Sonaria, the event can be a little confusing at first. You might notice the Dragon of Life sitting in the event area and think you can just buy it right away, but that’s not quite how this one works.

The Dragon of Life is tied to the current limited-time event and its progression system. You can start working toward it now, but there is also a waiting period before the creature can actually be claimed.

Here’s everything you need to know about the event missions, corrupted areas, event currency, and growing the Dragon of Life.

How to Get Dragon of Life in Creatures of Sonaria [COS]

The Dragon of Life is part of the current limited-time event and becomes claimable during Week 3.

You don’t simply purchase the Dragon of Life immediately. Instead, you need to participate in the event, complete its objectives, and earn the required event progress and currency.

The basic process is:

  1. Enter the event area.
  2. Find the corrupted regions.
  3. Destroy corrupted nodes and plants.
  4. Defeat the event monsters and NPCs.
  5. Complete the survival objective.
  6. Restore the corrupted areas.
  7. Earn event currency and progression.
  8. Wait until Week 3.
  9. Claim the Dragon of Life when it unlocks.

So if you’re playing right now and wondering why you can’t claim it yet, that’s intentional. You’ll need to wait for the Week 3 unlock.

How the Dragon of Life Event Works

The event introduces corrupted regions that appear while you’re participating in the event.

Your job is basically to help restore the corrupted land.

You’ll find different corrupted objects throughout the regions, including smaller corrupted nodes and larger corrupted targets.

Destroying these contributes toward your event progression.

The nice thing is that the corrupted objects aren’t a one-time thing. After an area is restored, the corruption can appear again, meaning you can keep working on the event rather than running out of things to do.

Destroy Corrupted Nodes

One of the easiest ways to make progress is by destroying the smaller corrupted nodes.

You’ll see them scattered around the event areas, and breaking them contributes toward your restoration/growth progress.

The event objectives include destroying a set number of corrupted nodes, so don’t ignore the smaller ones while you’re exploring.

They’re also useful if you’re specifically trying to grow the Dragon of Life.

Destroy the Big Corrupted Nodes

You’ll also encounter larger corrupted targets.

These take more effort to destroy, but they’re part of the event objectives and contribute to your overall progress.

Each region can have different-looking corrupted objects, so don’t be surprised if the corruption looks different depending on where you are.

Some areas have more crystal-like corruption, while others have different visual designs.

Just keep clearing whatever corrupted objects appear in the region.

Defeat Event Monsters and NPCs

Another part of the event progression involves defeating 20 event monsters or NPCs.

These enemies appear around the corrupted areas.

You don’t need to specifically hunt one particular enemy for this objective. Just take out the event enemies you encounter while clearing the corruption.

This is actually a good way to combine objectives instead of doing everything separately.

While you’re destroying corrupted nodes, keep an eye out for the event monsters and defeat them whenever they appear.

Survive for 20 Minutes as a Dragon

There’s also a survival objective that requires you to survive for 20 minutes as a dragon.

This one is pretty straightforward, but obviously you don’t want to take unnecessary risks while you’re working on it.

Once you’ve completed the required survival time, it will count toward the event progression.

If you’re already working on the other objectives, you can combine this with your normal corruption-clearing runs.

How to Grow the Dragon of Life

This is the part that confused me the most when looking at the event.

Getting the Dragon of Life and growing it aren’t exactly the same thing.

Once you have access to the creature, you’ll need to work on its growth/progress by restoring the corrupted areas.

Destroying corrupted plants and nodes gives you progress toward growing the creature.

You’ll see the progress bar increase as you continue clearing corruption.

In testing, destroying corrupted objects appeared to give small chunks of progress, so you’ll need to clear quite a few of them rather than expecting one node to instantly grow the creature.

Corrupted Areas Respawn

Don’t worry about completely running out of corruption to destroy.

After restoring an area, corrupted objects can respawn.

That’s important because it means you can continue farming the event and working toward your Dragon of Life growth.

So if you’ve already cleared the corrupted area once, you don’t need to move on forever. Come back and check again.

Event Currency and Rewards

Restoring corrupted regions also gives you event currency.

Once you’ve completed the restoration objectives, make sure you actually claim your rewards.

The currency can then be spent in the event shop on different rewards.

There are several things available, including creature-related rewards, palettes, materials, and other event items.

Some rewards are locked behind the event’s progression timeline, so don’t worry if you see something that you can’t purchase immediately.

Dragon of Life Week 3 Unlock

The biggest thing to remember is the Week 3 requirement.

The Dragon of Life isn’t immediately available to claim when you first enter the event.

You’ll need to wait until the third week of the event for the relevant reward to unlock.

That means you can start farming and completing the event objectives now, rather than waiting until Week 3 to begin everything.

Getting the groundwork done early will save you a lot of time later.

Dragon of Life Abilities

The Dragon of Life isn’t just an event collectible either. It has its own nature-themed abilities and animations.

One of its abilities involves throwing or creating nature stones, while its Life Forest ability provides additional protection.

The creature can also gain an extra shield, with the exact behavior depending on the ability mechanics.

There is also a Fortify effect that appears to improve its defensive capabilities and can help deal with negative effects.

The overall theme fits the creature perfectly: it’s heavily focused on nature, life and protection rather than simply being another aggressive creature.

Dragon of Life Movement and Animations

The Dragon of Life also has some unique animations.

You’ll notice its:

  • Sleeping animation
  • Walking/ground animations
  • Mud-related animation
  • Flying animation
  • Gliding movement

The gliding animation in particular fits the creature nicely and gives it a different feel from some of the other event creatures.

How to Farm the Event Quickly

If you’re trying to get through the event as efficiently as possible, don’t focus on just one objective.

Instead, combine them.

For example, while you’re clearing corrupted nodes:

  • Destroy small corrupted nodes.
  • Destroy large corrupted targets.
  • Kill event monsters and NPCs.
  • Work toward your survival requirement.
  • Restore the entire region.
  • Claim your restoration rewards.
  • Return when corruption respawns.

This way, you’re progressing multiple event objectives during the same run.

The event missions are also repeatable, so you can continue farming them for additional event currency and rewards.

New Event Map Changes

The update also brings some visual changes to the event areas.

There are redesigned areas and new nature-themed sections, including updated Caporadis designs and sub-areas.

The corrupted regions have their own visual identity as well, with some of the larger corrupted objects looking more like crystals or golems.

So while you’re farming, it’s worth exploring the different regions because they don’t all look exactly the same.
