Maybe Tomorrow I’ll Open the Door All Badges Guide

If you’re trying to collect every badge in Maybe Tomorrow I’ll Open the Door, some of them are incredibly straightforward, while others are hidden behind some genuinely strange little interactions.

You’ll have to eat things you probably shouldn’t, read a few notes, mess around with the fridge, and for one of the harder badges, even find a way to glitch yourself outside the map.

So if you’re going for 100% completion, here’s how to get all of the badges currently available.

Donor Badge

The Donor badge is probably the simplest one, assuming you’re willing to spend a few Robux.

Look around the game for the plushy and interact with it.

You’ll be asked to spend some Robux to purchase it, and doing so will reward you with the Donor badge.

This one is completely optional, so you don’t need to spend anything if you’re only interested in the free badges. But if you want to support the game and collect everything, this is one of the badges you can pick up.

Cheaper Than the Dentist Badge

This one is much easier—and considerably stranger.

Head over to the chips and start eating them.

Keep eating the chips repeatedly until the badge triggers.

You’ll know you’ve done it when the game gives you the achievement, along with a rather unpleasant surprise involving a tooth and a cockroach.

It’s basically just a matter of being persistent, so keep interacting with the chips until the badge appears.

Two Player Badge

For the Two Player badge, you don’t actually need to bring another player into the game.

Instead, look for the note and interact with it.

The note contains a message thanking you for visiting the game and explaining its self-isolation theme before ending with the developer’s name.

Read the entire note and the badge should unlock.

So if you’re stuck wondering why the game is asking you to find something despite the badge name saying “Two Player,” check the note before trying to invite someone else.

Death Note Badge

The next badge is obtained by interacting with the Death Note located on the bed.

Walk over to the bed and click the note.

You’ll need to read through the content to trigger the achievement.

There’s nothing complicated about this one mechanically—you simply need to interact with it and go through the text.

The game also references manga content here, so if you’re interested in the inspiration behind it, you may want to check that out separately.

Is Mayonnaise an Instrument? Badge

This is easily one of the funniest badge requirements.

First, head over to the fridge.

Interact with it and grab the item you need from inside.

Instead of taking the normal drink, look for the mayonnaise.

Once you have it, start eating the mayo.

Yep. That’s basically the entire challenge.

Keep eating it until the Is Mayonnaise an Instrument? badge pops up.

It’s a very SpongeBob-style reference, and thankfully you don’t need to do anything complicated after picking up the mayo.

Leaving Badge

There’s also a badge for attempting to leave.

For this one, simply head toward the area where you’re supposed to leave the game and keep trying to move through.

The game will stop you and basically make it clear that you’re not supposed to leave.

Keep interacting with the exit and pushing forward until the badge triggers.

Once the achievement appears, you can move on to the next one.

I Told You Not To Badge

This is probably the most annoying badge to get because it requires you to find a way outside the intended playable area.

First, return to the fridge and grab an ice cream.

Once you’ve got the ice cream, take it upstairs.

Use the Ice Cream to Clip Outside

Go to the corner of the upper area and position yourself near the spot where you can attempt to squeeze through the collision.

The goal is to clip through the map and get outside.

The ice cream can interfere with the collision in a way that allows you to reach the area you’re normally not supposed to access.

It may take several attempts, so don’t worry if it doesn’t work immediately.

Turn On Shift Lock

If you’re having trouble getting through, try enabling Shift Lock.

This can make the positioning considerably easier because you have more control over your character while trying to squeeze through the corner.

Move into the corner with the ice cream equipped and keep adjusting your position until you manage to clip through.

Once you successfully get outside, the I Told You Not To badge should unlock.

You can then return inside afterward.

All Maybe Tomorrow I’ll Open the Door Badges

For a quick checklist, here’s the full route:

  • Donor — Purchase the plushy for Robux.
  • Cheaper Than the Dentist — Eat chips repeatedly until the badge appears.
  • Two Player — Read the note containing the developer message.
  • Death Note — Read the Death Note on the bed.
  • Is Mayonnaise an Instrument? — Get mayonnaise from the fridge and eat it.
  • Leaving — Attempt to leave through the exit until the badge triggers.
  • I Told You Not To — Get ice cream, use it to clip outside the map, and unlock the badge.

Which Badge Is the Hardest?

Out of all of them, I Told You Not To is easily the one I’d expect players to struggle with the most.

The other badges are mostly about finding an object and interacting with it. This one actually requires you to manipulate the game’s collision and escape the intended area.

If the clipping isn’t working, don’t keep randomly jumping around. Grab the ice cream, turn on Shift Lock, get yourself into the correct corner, and carefully adjust your position until your character slips through.

It can take a few attempts, but once you get outside, the badge should trigger almost immediately.

Final Thoughts

Most of the badges in Maybe Tomorrow I’ll Open the Door are hidden behind little jokes or unusual interactions rather than difficult gameplay.

The main things to remember are chips, the note, Death Note, mayonnaise, the exit, and ice cream. If you’re missing the final badge, the ice cream clipping method is the one to focus on.

And if you’re trying to collect absolutely everything, don’t forget about the Donor badge and its optional Robux purchase. There’s also a wand-related purchase mentioned for another badge, so keep that in mind if you’re aiming for a completely finished badge collection.
