The first few hours of Splatoon Raiders can be a little overwhelming. You finish one dungeon, another island opens up, someone tells you to upgrade your ship, and before you know it you’re wondering which stage actually progresses the story and which ones are just for farming.
I made that mistake early on. I spent a good amount of time replaying treasure stages before realizing the next story mission had been waiting for me the entire time.
To save you from the same confusion, this guide explains every dungeon type in Splatoon Raiders, the current story stages, how progression works, and which activities are worth revisiting once you unlock higher difficulties.
Current Story Dungeons
These are the story-related dungeons currently available in Splatoon Raiders.
| Dungeon | Island | Raid Level | Main Objective |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pantree Beach | Lehlo Island | 1 | Explore the area and reach the machine at the end |
| Piel Coast | Erpp Island | 2 | Drill three Spirhalite Crystals and collect the treasure |
| Blansh Seaway | Erpp Island | 3 | Follow the radar and destroy all crystal objectives |
| Scayl Buried Ruins | Erpp Island | 4 | Complete two challenge objectives including a boss battle |
More story dungeons will become available as additional areas of the Spirhalite Islands unlock.
Pantree Beach
Island: Lehlo Island
Raid Level: 1
Pantree Beach serves as your introduction to Splatoon Raiders.
Rather than throwing difficult combat at you immediately, this dungeon teaches movement, exploration, combat basics, and how dungeon objectives work.
Your goal is simple—explore until you locate the mysterious machine waiting near the end of the stage.
Even after clearing it, Pantree Beach is worth replaying if you’re looking for collectibles or practicing new gadgets.
Piel Coast
Island: Erpp Island
Raid Level: 2
Piel Coast expands on everything you learned in the tutorial.
Instead of simply reaching the end, you’ll need to follow your radar, locate three Spirhalite Crystals, drill each one, and retrieve the hidden treasure.
It’s the first dungeon where navigation starts becoming just as important as combat.
Blansh Seaway
Island: Erpp Island
Raid Level: 3
Blansh Seaway follows a similar structure to Piel Coast but introduces tougher enemies and more demanding exploration.
Again, you’ll use the radar to locate crystal objectives before claiming the treasure waiting at the end.
This dungeon is also worth revisiting later since several collectibles can appear here.
Scayl Buried Ruins
Island: Erpp Island
Raid Level: 4
Scayl Buried Ruins is the first dungeon that really changes the pace.
Instead of one straightforward objective, you’ll tackle multiple challenge stages.
Sublevel 1
Collect 1,000 Power Eggs before the timer expires.
This section rewards efficient movement and knowing when to ignore enemies in favor of grabbing more eggs.
Sublevel 2
Defeat the Thick-Cut Salty Tongue boss.
This fight serves as an early skill check, testing everything you’ve learned about positioning, gadget usage, and teamwork.
Every Dungeon Type Explained
Not every dungeon exists for story progression.
Some are designed purely for farming materials or unlocking special rewards.
Understanding the difference helps you spend your time much more efficiently.
Treasure Hunt Dungeons
Treasure Hunt Dungeons revolve around locating hidden treasure using radar signals.
After completing the objective, you’ll receive a treasure chest that may contain rewards such as:
- Briny Scrolls
- Gadget Parts
- Treasure items
- Other valuable collectibles
If you’re hunting collectibles rather than experience, these are excellent stages to replay.
Shard Mining Dungeons
These stages are identified by crystal icons on the world map.
Their primary purpose is farming Spirhalite Shards, one of the game’s most commonly used upgrade materials.
Whenever you run low on shards for upgrades, these should become your priority.
Spirhalite Gem Search Dungeons
These special dungeons reward one of the game’s rarer upgrade resources.
Completing the challenge grants a Spirhalite Gem, which is required for higher-level gadget upgrades and expanding facilities aboard your ship.
Since Gems aren’t nearly as common as standard shards, these stages are always worth completing whenever they appear.
Buried Ruins
Buried Ruins are especially interesting because they reward Relics.
The catch is that the Relic you receive depends on which Tank you’re using.
That means if you’re trying to complete your Relic collection, you’ll eventually want to clear these dungeons with:
- Power Tank
- Speed Tank
- Tactical Tank
It’s one of the few activities that encourages experimenting with every Tank type.
Sampler Dungeons
Sampler Dungeons are hidden locations that only become available after using Old Compasses.
These optional stages feature unique objectives and reward Skill Tomes, which are essential for upgrading your Tanks.
Whenever you obtain an Old Compass, it’s worth tracking these dungeons down before continuing the main story.
Past Adventures
Past Adventures are essentially the game’s story and tutorial missions.
Besides teaching important mechanics, completing these stages also unlocks:
- New story scenes
- Additional dialogue with Deep Cut
- New regions
- More gameplay features
If you’re unsure how to continue the campaign, checking your available Past Adventures is usually the answer.
How to Progress the Story Faster
If you’re wondering why new islands haven’t unlocked yet, chances are you’re missing one of these progression requirements.
Complete Every Past Adventure
Story progression is tied directly to these missions.
Finishing them unlocks new islands, mechanics, and major story events.
Skipping them will eventually stop your progress.
Unlock New Islands
As you complete more dungeons and raise your overall strength, additional areas across the Spirhalite Islands become accessible.
Each new island introduces stronger Salmonids, better loot, and new dungeon types.
Upgrade Your Ship
Your Hideout Ship isn’t just a hub area.
Several story missions require your facilities to reach certain upgrade levels before new objectives become available.
Whenever you’ve gathered enough materials, spend them upgrading your base instead of letting them pile up.
How the Dungeon System Works
Nearly everything in Splatoon Raiders revolves around replaying dungeons.
They’re your primary source of:
- Weapons
- Relics
- Gadget Parts
- Spirhalite Shards
- Spirhalite Gems
- Experience
- Treasure
- Upgrade materials
Rather than treating dungeons as one-time missions, think of them as repeatable content that becomes increasingly rewarding over time.
Standard Raid vs Spicy Raid
Every dungeon features two difficulty settings.
Standard Raid
This is the version you’ll play first.
It’s designed for progression and learning each dungeon’s mechanics.
Spicy Raid
After clearing Standard difficulty, you’ll unlock Spicy Raid.
Enemies become significantly stronger, but so do the rewards.
Expect:
- Better loot
- Higher-level materials
- More exclusive rewards
- Tougher Salmonid encounters
Once your build improves, Spicy Raids become the best place to farm endgame resources.
Best Things to Farm in Dungeons
Depending on your current goal, different dungeon types become more valuable.
| Goal | Best Dungeon Type |
|---|---|
| Relics | Buried Ruins |
| Gadget Parts | Treasure Hunt |
| Spirhalite Shards | Shard Mining |
| Spirhalite Gems | Gem Search |
| Skill Tomes | Sampler Dungeons |
| Story Progression | Past Adventures |
How to Play Dungeons With Friends
Splatoon Raiders supports both online and local multiplayer.
Setting up a party is fairly simple.
Step 1
Visit the Radio Facility aboard the Hideout Ship.
Choose either Online Play or Local Play.
Step 2
Join an existing room or create your own lobby.
Step 3
If you’re hosting, you can assign a password so only your friends can join.
Step 4
Once everyone has joined, finish recruiting players, choose your dungeon, and begin the raid.
Dungeons are the heart of Splatoon Raiders. Whether you’re advancing the story, hunting Relics, farming Spirhalite materials, or collecting every Briny Scroll, almost everything begins with choosing the right dungeon. Once you understand what each dungeon type is designed for, progression feels much smoother, and you’ll spend less time wondering where to go next and more time exploring the Spirhalite Islands for bigger rewards.
