Marcus and Faleris are the fourth Tower Boss in Palworld Version 1.0. This battle takes place at the PIDF Tower and is one of the toughest encounters before the endgame. Since Faleris is a Fire-type Pal with high mobility, you’ll want to bring powerful Water-type Pals, upgrade your equipment, and stay constantly on the move throughout the fight.

How to Beat Marcus and Faleris
Reach Level 45 or Higher
You should be at least Level 45 before entering the tower.
By this stage of the game, most of the Technology Tree is unlocked, allowing you to craft stronger weapons, armor, and shields that make the battle significantly easier.
If the fight feels overwhelming, consider reaching Level 50, which unlocks even stronger equipment such as the Rocket Launcher and Pal Metal gear.
Farm Legendary Equipment
Legendary weapons and armor provide much higher stats than their standard versions.
Although Legendary Schematics are rare drops from Alpha Bosses, obtaining even one Legendary weapon greatly increases your damage output during this encounter.
If you’ve been exploring high-level regions, it’s worth farming Alpha Pals before challenging Marcus and Faleris.
Equip Combat Accessories
Accessories become increasingly valuable during the late game.
Equip items that improve:
- Attack
- Defense
- Health
- Survivability
Small stat increases can make a noticeable difference against one of the game’s strongest Tower Bosses.
Stay Constantly Moving
Unlike previous bosses, Faleris frequently launches large Fire attacks that target wide areas of the arena.
Standing still for too long usually results in getting hit by multiple explosions.
Keep circling the arena while attacking and avoid remaining in one location for more than a few seconds.
Aim at Marcus
Like every Tower Boss, this encounter has a weak point.
The weak point is Marcus himself.
Landing shots directly on Marcus deals bonus damage, displayed as larger orange damage numbers.
Automatic weapons such as the Assault Rifle make weak-point hits much easier to land while Faleris is flying around.
Bring Powerful Water-Type Pals
Since Faleris is a Fire-type Pal, Water attacks deal increased damage.
Water Pals also resist Fire attacks, allowing them to survive much longer throughout the fight.
This elemental advantage makes Water Pals by far the best choice for this battle.
Use Strong Passive Skills
If you’ve started breeding combat Pals, look for powerful Water-related Passive Skills such as:
- Hydromaniac – increases Water-type damage.
- Lord of the Sea – further boosts Water attacks.
These passives noticeably improve your damage output against Faleris.
Breed Better Combat Pals
Late-game Tower Bosses are much easier with bred combat Pals.
Breeding allows offspring to inherit several powerful Passive Skills, letting you combine offensive and defensive bonuses into one exceptionally strong Pal.
Use Water-Boosting Partner Skills
Some Partner Skills increase the damage dealt by Water-type Pals.
The best support option is:
Kelpsea
- Partner Skill increases the Attack of your active Water Pal.
- Also produces Aquatic Pal Fluids when assigned to a Ranch.
Keeping Kelpsea in your party provides a free damage boost throughout the encounter.
Teach Water Skills Using Skill Fruits
If your strongest Pal isn’t naturally Water-type, you can still teach Water attacks using Water Skill Fruits.
These are found on Skill Fruit Trees scattered throughout the world and allow many combat Pals to exploit Faleris’ elemental weakness.
Upgrade Your Pals
Before entering the tower, strengthen your combat Pals using a Statue of Power.
Upgrade:
- HP
- Attack
- Defense
Because these bonuses scale with a Pal’s base stats, they’re especially effective on high-level combat Pals.
Rank Up Your Pals
Use the Pal Essence Condenser to combine duplicate Pals.
This permanently increases:
- Base stats
- Partner Skill level
Fully condensed Pals deal significantly more damage and survive much longer during endgame boss fights.
Best Pals for Marcus and Faleris
Suzaku Aqua
Suzaku Aqua is arguably the strongest choice for this encounter.
Its powerful Water attacks deal excellent damage, while its Partner Skill allows your own attacks to gain Water damage while mounted.
Jormuntide
Jormuntide boasts high Attack, strong Water skills, and excellent durability.
It can consistently pressure Faleris while surviving far longer than most Water Pals.
Kelpsea
Although not a primary damage dealer, Kelpsea’s Partner Skill boosts your active Water Pal’s damage, making it one of the best support companions for this fight.
Best Weapons
Assault Rifle
The Assault Rifle is the recommended weapon for Marcus and Faleris.
Its rapid fire and accuracy make it much easier to continuously hit Marcus while Faleris moves around the arena.
Best Armor
Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor
This armor provides excellent defense while also protecting you from the extreme temperatures surrounding the Volcano region.
Refined Metal Helm
An upgrade over the standard Metal Helm that further increases your survivability.
Hyper Shield
The Hyper Shield is the strongest shield available around this stage of progression and provides valuable protection against Faleris’ powerful ranged attacks.
Rewards for Defeating Marcus and Faleris
Completing the battle rewards you with:
- Character EXP
- Pal EXP
- 5 Ancient Technology Points
The amount of experience earned depends on your current World Settings.
You’ll also unlock:
- A Fast Travel Point at the top of the tower.
- 1 additional Technology Point for activating the Fast Travel Statue.
The tower’s high elevation also makes it an excellent location for gliding to nearby regions.
Marcus and Faleris are one of the last major challenges before Palworld’s endgame. Arriving at Level 45 or higher, equipping an Assault Rifle, and bringing powerful Water-type Pals such as Suzaku Aqua and Jormuntide will greatly improve your chances of victory. Keep moving to avoid Faleris’ large Fire attacks, focus your gunfire on Marcus for bonus weak-point damage, and strengthen your combat Pals through breeding, passive skills, the Statue of Power, and the Pal Essence Condenser before taking on this demanding Tower Boss.
