Anime Squadron’s Update 1 is finally here, and it’s easily the biggest update the game has received so far. The Dragon Ball-themed update introduces new story content, an entirely new Invasion Mode, several new units, Divine evolutions, Battle Pass rewards, and plenty of free redeem codes to help you get started.
If you’re wondering where each new unit comes from or how to unlock the new Divine characters, this guide breaks everything down in one place.
Anime Squadron Update 1 Codes
Before you start grinding, make sure to redeem the latest codes for free rewards.
| Code | Rewards |
|---|---|
| !UPDATEONE | Bounty Tickets |
| GOBROLYGO | 50 Rolls |
| ULTIMATEFUSION | 50 Rolls + Bounty Tickets |
| Maintenance Compensation | 100 Rolls + 3 Perfect Cubes |
The update gives players a generous amount of free summons, so it’s worth claiming everything before rolling on the new banners.
Everything Added in Update 1
This update introduces quite a bit of new content, including:
- New Dragon Ball units
- Divine unit progression
- Invasion Mode
- New Story chapter
- New Squadron stage
- Shiny Transfer system
- Battle Pass units
- New shop bundles and skins
- New redeem codes
There’s a lot to work through, especially if you’re aiming to collect every new character.
All New Units in Anime Squadron Update 1
Several Dragon Ball characters have joined the roster.
Divine Units
The biggest additions are the new Divine characters:
- Divine Gogeta
- Divine Broly
Unlike normal units, these require completing special quests before they can be fully unlocked.
Secret Units
New Secret units include:
- Gogeta
- Broly
- Golden Frieza
These are among the rarest units introduced in the update.
Banner Units
Players can summon several new characters directly from banners, including:
- Android
- Super Android
- Baby Vegeta
These are considerably easier to obtain than the Divine units.
Battle Pass Units
The Update 1 Battle Pass introduces:
- Dante
- Vergil
If you’ve played other anime tower defense games, you’ll probably recognize these characters immediately. They serve as exclusive Battle Pass rewards and also come with shiny versions.
New Story Map
A brand-new Story chapter has been added.
The stage itself isn’t particularly difficult if you’ve already built a solid late-game team. Enemy health remains fairly manageable, making it a good place to farm progression before moving into the tougher content.
New Squadron Stage
Update 1 also expands the Squadron mode with another stage.
You’ll need to complete all required story chapters before you can access it, so newer players should focus on finishing the main campaign first.
One of the new units can also be obtained through Squadron progression.
How Invasion Mode Works
The biggest gameplay addition is Invasion Mode.
Unlike regular story stages, this mode feels much more like a raid encounter.
Here’s how it works:
- You fight against powerful invasion bosses.
- Each stage has a 20-minute timer.
- Bosses have millions of HP.
- Defeat the boss before time expires to clear the stage.
The first Broly invasion features a boss with around 10 million HP, although experienced players with strong late-game teams shouldn’t have too much trouble clearing the early stages.
Personally, this mode feels much more interesting than simply running another standard story mission since it gives players a dedicated boss fight instead of just endless enemy waves.
How to Get Broly
Broly is obtained through the new Invasion Mode.
Simply head to:
Create Room → Invasion Mode
From there, you’ll be able to start farming Broly stages along with the gear required for his Divine progression.
How to Get Gogeta
Gogeta is obtained differently.
Instead of dropping from Invasion Mode, Secret Gogeta appears as a Selection Banner Secret Unit.
The summon rate is extremely low, making him one of the hardest units to pull naturally.
Once you obtain the base version, you can begin working toward his Divine evolution.
How to Unlock Divine Broly
Divine units require completing a list of progression objectives instead of simply evolving them with materials.
For Divine Broly, you’ll need to:
- Clear the Broly Invasion 20 times.
- Solo the Broly Invasion 5 times.
- Deal 500 million total damage.
- Obtain the complete Broly Gear set and equip it.
- Clear Infinite Mode 450 times using Broly.
This is definitely a long-term grind rather than something you’ll finish in a single day.
How to Unlock Divine Gogeta
Divine Gogeta has a different questline.
Requirements include:
- Obtain Base Gogeta.
- Craft 20 pieces of gear.
- Clear stages 250 times.
- Apply the Exposing Vulnerable effect multiple times.
- Spawn Base Gogeta 2,000 times.
Out of the two Divine units, Gogeta’s progression looks significantly longer due to the sheer number of stage clears and deployment requirements.
New Gear Sets
Update 1 also introduces brand-new equipment for both Divine units.
Gogeta Gear
The Gogeta set includes:
- Gogeta Hair
- Gogeta Jacket
- Gogeta Pants
- Fusion Claw accessory
Broly Gear
Broly has his own exclusive gear set, which can be obtained from the same Invasion stages used to farm his progression materials.
You’ll need these gear pieces to complete Broly’s Divine questline.
Where Every New Unit Comes From
If you’re still wondering where each character is obtained, here’s the easiest way to remember them:
| Unit | How to Obtain |
|---|---|
| Gogeta (Secret) | Selection Banner |
| Divine Gogeta | Complete Divine Questline |
| Broly | Invasion Mode |
| Divine Broly | Complete Divine Questline |
| Golden Frieza | Squadron Mode |
| Android | Banner |
| Super Android | Banner |
| Baby Vegeta | Banner |
| Dante | Battle Pass |
| Vergil | Battle Pass |
Best Team for Invasion Mode
If you’ve already built a strong end-game roster, you shouldn’t need to make many changes for Invasion Mode.
A balanced team with powerful DPS, reliable support, and economy units is more than enough to clear the early invasion stages. Many experienced players are already using their existing late-game teams without major adjustments, although adding strong damage dealers like Shanks or other top-tier units can make boss fights even faster.
Update 1 adds much more than just new Dragon Ball characters. The introduction of Invasion Mode, Divine progression, new Story and Squadron stages, plus several grindable end-game objectives gives players plenty to work toward beyond simply summoning new units.
If your goal is collecting everything, start by redeeming the free codes, summon for the new banner units, then begin farming Invasion Mode for Broly and his gear while slowly progressing through the lengthy Divine questlines. It’s a sizable grind, but it also gives Update 1 much better long-term replay value than previous versions of the game.
