Have your Evomon suddenly stopped leveling even though you’re still winning battles and earning EXP? Or maybe you’re trying to evolve one of your favorite monsters but can’t reach the required level. If that sounds familiar, you’ve probably reached your current Ascension limit.
Ascension is one of the most important progression systems in Evomon. It increases the maximum level for both your character and your Evomon, allowing you to continue getting stronger throughout the game. Ignoring it will eventually bring your progress to a complete halt, no matter how much experience you earn.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Ascension system, including how it works, where to find it, and why you should complete each Ascension as soon as possible.
Evomon Ascension Guide – How to Increase Your Level Cap
Ascension is the system that raises your maximum level cap.
Both your player character and your Evomon are affected by level caps. Once you reach the current limit, you’ll stop gaining levels even if you continue battling enemies and earning experience.
Completing an Ascension unlocks the next level cap, allowing you to continue progressing and making your team stronger.
Without Ascending, you’ll eventually hit a wall where leveling, evolving, and unlocking stronger abilities all become impossible.
When Do You Unlock Ascension?
Your first Ascension becomes available once your Player Level reaches 20.
You can level up your character by:
- Completing Daily Quests
- Finishing NPC Quests
- Progressing through story and progression missions
Once you reach Level 20, a new set of Ascension objectives will become available.
How to Access the Ascension Menu
If you’re not sure how close you are to your next Ascension, checking your progress only takes a few seconds.
Here’s how:
- Make sure you’re outside of battle.
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select the EXP Bar beside your profile.
- The Ascension menu will open.
From there, you’ll see every objective required before you can Ascend.
Checking this menu regularly is a good habit because you’ll know exactly what you should be working toward instead of discovering you’re missing several requirements after reaching the level cap.
First Ascension Requirements
For your very first Ascension, you’ll need to complete two objectives:
- Raise 2 Evomon to Level 25
- Collect 35 different Evomon
Once both objectives are complete, you’ll be able to perform your first Ascension.
Future Ascension stages become progressively more difficult and will require additional milestones before unlocking the next level cap.
Does Ascension Progress Save?
Yes.
One of the nicest parts of the system is that your progress is saved automatically.
For example, if an Ascension requires collecting 35 Evomon, you don’t need to finish everything in one play session.
You can:
- Catch a few new Evomon today.
- Log out.
- Return later.
- Continue from exactly where you left off.
Nothing resets, so you can complete the objectives at your own pace.
How to Ascend
Once every requirement has been completed:
- Open the Ascension menu.
- Review the completed objectives.
- Press the Ascend button.
The process is immediate, and your new level cap becomes available right away.
There’s no benefit to delaying your Ascension, so it’s generally best to complete it as soon as you qualify.
Why Is Ascension Important?
Many players underestimate how important Ascension is until they hit their first level cap.
Here’s what Ascension actually unlocks.
Higher Player Level Cap
Your character can continue gaining levels instead of becoming stuck.
Higher player levels also prepare you for later-game content and future progression systems.
Higher Evomon Level Cap
Your Evomon can continue leveling alongside you.
Without Ascending, your monsters eventually stop gaining levels, even if they continue earning battle EXP.
Stronger Stats
Higher levels naturally increase your Evomon’s stats, making them much stronger during battles.
Whether you’re farming, fighting bosses, or challenging tougher opponents, those extra levels make a noticeable difference.
More Skills
Many Evomon unlock additional moves as they level up.
If your level cap is locked, you’ll also be locked out of learning those stronger abilities.
Required for Evolution
Perhaps the biggest reason to Ascend is evolution.
Many Evomon require reaching a certain level before they can evolve.
Even if you’ve already collected every required Evolution Stone and Element Stone, you won’t be able to evolve them if your current level cap is too low.
Ascension is the backbone of long-term progression in Evomon. While it may seem like just another milestone at first, it’s actually what allows both your character and your Evomon to continue growing stronger. Without it, your team will eventually stop leveling, miss out on stronger abilities, and struggle to meet the requirements needed for future evolutions. If you’re approaching Player Level 20 or noticing that your progress has slowed down, check your Ascension menu and start working on the objectives early. Staying ahead of the system will make the rest of your adventure much smoother.
