The Iron is one of the newest Quincy abilities added in VV: Ultimatum Update 1. Unlike most abilities that focus on a single weapon style, The Iron features multiple weapon variants, each with its own attacks, critical strikes, and special abilities.

Based on early showcases, The Iron offers powerful burst damage, strong mobility, and multiple combat styles depending on the weapon variant you choose.

Ability Type

  • Race: Quincy
  • Ability: The Iron

What Makes The Iron Unique?

Unlike most abilities, The Iron changes your weapon and moveset depending on the variant equipped.

Current showcased variants include:

  • Gauntlet Variant
  • Mantis Variant
  • Additional unrevealed variants

Each form features:

  • Unique M1 attacks
  • Different critical strikes
  • Exclusive abilities
  • Different combat styles

This makes The Iron one of the most versatile Quincy abilities currently available.

Gauntlet Variant

The Gauntlet variant focuses on aggressive close-range combat and high M1 damage.

M1 Attacks

The Gauntlet form appears to deal surprisingly high basic attack damage, making it excellent for pressure and combo extensions.

First Ability

The showcased first ability delivers a powerful strike that deals solid damage and can be used as a combo starter.

Second Ability

The second ability offers additional burst damage and helps maintain offensive pressure during fights.

Playstyle

The Gauntlet form is best suited for players who prefer:

  • Close-range combat
  • M1-heavy gameplay
  • High burst damage
  • Aggressive PvP engagements

Mantis Variant

The Mantis variant appears to focus on mobility and wide-area attacks.

Critical Strike

The Mantis crit functions as a lunging dash attack.

Features include:

  • Fast gap closing
  • Good range
  • Easy combo initiation
  • Strong chase potential

First Ability

The first skill launches the user forward before performing a large AoE slash.

Benefits include:

  • Excellent crowd control
  • Strong engage tool
  • Multiple target potential

Second Ability

The second skill can be recast and delivers significantly higher damage.

During the showcase, this move was one of the hardest-hitting attacks displayed from The Iron.

Knockdown Potential

The Mantis form includes knockdown effects that create opportunities for follow-up attacks and combo extensions.

Playstyle

The Mantis variant excels at:

  • Mobility
  • Aggressive engagement
  • AoE pressure
  • PvP chasing

Weapon Crit Variations

One of The Iron’s biggest strengths is that every variant appears to alter your critical attack.

Examples shown include:

Gauntlet Crit

  • Close-range offensive strike
  • Fast execution
  • Strong combo potential

Mantis Crit

  • Lunging dash attack
  • Gap closer
  • Useful for catching fleeing targets

This flexibility allows players to adapt their combat style without changing abilities.

Strengths of The Iron

Pros

  • Multiple weapon variants
  • Different crit attacks for each form
  • Strong M1 damage
  • High mobility
  • Excellent combo potential
  • Powerful burst damage
  • Versatile playstyles
  • Quincy-exclusive ability

Weaknesses

Cons

  • Requires learning multiple weapon forms
  • Some variants rely heavily on proper timing
  • Full potential depends on understanding each moveset
  • Limited information currently available on all six variants

The Iron is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Quincy abilities in VV: Ultimatum. With six different variants, unique critical attacks, strong burst damage, and flexible combat options, it offers far more variety than a traditional single-weapon ability.

Players who enjoy adapting their playstyle and mastering multiple combat forms will likely find The Iron to be one of the most rewarding abilities added in Update 1.
