The Statue Mystery Quest is one of the more important side objectives in VV: Ultimatum because it unlocks a valuable quality-of-life feature that lets you refund skill points without completely resetting your character. While the quest itself isn’t particularly difficult, many players get confused about where to find the required extracts and how to activate the statue.

How the Statue Mystery Works
The quest revolves around collecting special extracts from various sources throughout the game world and placing them into a mysterious statue shrine.
Once you obtain an extract, you’ll need to equip it in your hand and interact with the appropriate shrine slot. The statue contains multiple slots, and each extract must be inserted into its designated location.
The good news is that the order doesn’t appear to matter. As long as you collect all the required extracts and place them into the statue, you’ll be able to complete the quest.
All Required Extracts
To finish the Statue Mystery Quest, you’ll need three different extracts:
- Intelligent Extract
- Strength Extract
- Masked Hollow Man Extract
Each one is obtained from a different source.
Intelligent Extract
This is the easiest extract to obtain.
Players receive the Intelligent Extract shortly after completing the game’s tutorial. If you decide to skip the tutorial, you should still receive the item automatically.
Once obtained, equip the extract and place it into the appropriate statue slot.
Since this extract is essentially free, most players will already have it before they even begin hunting for the others.
How to Get the Strength Extract
The Strength Extract comes from defeating the Crocodile King boss.
You’ll find this boss in the Marsh region, where it becomes available through a quest around Level 35.
Crocodile King Location
Before you can fight the boss, you’ll need to progress far enough into the Marsh area and unlock the associated questline.
After defeating the Crocodile King, you’ll receive the Strength Extract, which can then be taken back to the mystery statue.
Many players complete this step naturally while leveling through the Marsh, making it one of the more straightforward extracts to obtain.
How to Get the Masked Hollow Man Extract
The final extract comes from the Masked Hollow Man.
Unlike the Crocodile King, this enemy doesn’t have a fixed location or permanent spawn.
Finding the Masked Hollow Man
The Masked Hollow Man appears randomly within the Outskirts area.
Players often receive hints about his appearance through NPC dialogue and area messages mentioning a large hollow creature. When these messages appear, you’ll need to search the Outskirts and locate him before defeating him.
After defeating the Masked Hollow Man, you’ll receive the final extract needed for the statue.
Because of the random spawn mechanics, this is usually the extract that takes players the longest to obtain.
Activating the Statue
After collecting all three extracts, return to the shrine area.
Equip each extract individually and interact with the corresponding slots on the statue.
Required extracts include:
- Intelligent Extract
- Strength Extract
- Masked Hollow Man Extract
Once all three have been inserted, the statue will activate and the shrine portal will become operational.

Statue Mystery Quest Reward
The main reward for completing the quest is access to the Skill Refund system.
