Anime Apocalypse has received a new update, and while this one isn’t packed with new game modes or additional maps, it introduces two powerful abilities that are already getting a lot of attention from players. The update adds Anti-Magic, inspired by Asta from Black Clover, and Hollow, inspired by Ulquiorra from Bleach.
At first glance, this might seem like a smaller update compared to previous ones, but both abilities are incredibly strong and bring some of the best animations and cutscenes we’ve seen so far. If you’re wondering how to unlock them and whether they’re worth using, here’s everything you need to know.
Anime Apocalypse Asta & Ulquiorra Guide – Ability, Skills
Unlike some major content updates that add new raids, worlds, or progression systems, this update focuses entirely on new abilities.
The two additions are:
- Anti-Magic (Asta)
- Hollow (Ulquiorra)
Both abilities play very differently and cater to different playstyles, giving players more options when building their character.
The biggest thing to note is that Ulquiorra’s Hollow ability is a limited-time unlock. If you’re interested in collecting everything in Anime Apocalypse, you’ll want to prioritize unlocking it before the event ends.
How to Unlock Asta’s Anti-Magic Ability
Asta’s Anti-Magic ability belongs to the Majestic rarity category.
That means there is no special questline attached to it. Instead, you’ll need to obtain it through the game’s ability rolling system.
Since Majestic abilities are among the rarest abilities available, don’t expect to get it immediately. You may need to spend a decent amount of rolls before Anti-Magic appears.
If you’ve been saving spins for a strong ability, this update gives you a very good reason to use them.
Many players are already considering Anti-Magic one of the strongest Majestic abilities currently available due to its damage output and flashy skill set.
Asta Ability Showcase
The first thing you’ll notice about Anti-Magic is how smooth the animations feel.
Even the basic M1 attacks look polished and carry the aggressive sword-focused combat style that fans would expect from Asta.
The ability focuses heavily on close-range combat, delivering powerful attacks with excellent damage potential.
Strengths
- High damage output
- Fast attack animations
- Great combo potential
- Excellent ultimate cutscene
- Strong burst damage
Throughout testing, the damage numbers remained consistently impressive. Most abilities can deal solid damage, but Anti-Magic stands out because many of its attacks hit hard while also feeling responsive.
Weaknesses
The main drawback is range.
Several moves require you to stay relatively close to your target, making it slightly harder to use against mobile enemies or bosses that constantly reposition.
There are some exceptions, particularly one of the larger area attacks that provides much better reach, but overall this ability rewards aggressive playstyles.
If you enjoy staying in your opponent’s face and constantly applying pressure, Anti-Magic feels fantastic.
Asta’s Ultimate Move
The highlight of the entire ability is undoubtedly its ultimate.
Without spoiling every detail, the ultimate delivers one of the most cinematic cutscenes currently available in Anime Apocalypse.
The visual effects are impressive, the impact feels powerful, and the overall presentation captures Asta’s character extremely well.
For many players, the ultimate alone will make this ability worth chasing.
How to Unlock Ulquiorra’s Hollow Ability
Unlike Asta, Ulquiorra cannot be obtained through normal rolling.
Instead, players must complete a brand-new questline.
This questline was added specifically for the update and serves as the primary way to unlock Hollow.
The process isn’t particularly difficult, but because the ability is limited-time, it’s something you’ll want to complete sooner rather than later.
Missing the event could mean losing access to the ability entirely.
For collectors and Bleach fans especially, this should be your first priority after logging into the update.
Ulquiorra Ability Showcase
Ulquiorra’s Hollow ability feels very different from Anti-Magic.
While Asta focuses on aggressive close-range combat, Hollow offers much better overall range and battlefield control.
The animations may not be quite as flashy as Anti-Magic’s biggest attacks, but they are still well-designed and fit Ulquiorra’s fighting style perfectly.
Strengths
- Excellent range
- Strong area coverage
- Easy to land attacks
- Good crowd control
- Powerful ultimate animation
One of the biggest advantages of Hollow is consistency.
Many attacks cover a large area, making it easier to hit multiple enemies at once and maintain pressure during fights.
Players who prefer safer combat and keeping enemies at a distance will likely enjoy Hollow more than Anti-Magic.
Weaknesses
The only noticeable downside is that some animations feel slightly less impactful compared to Asta’s explosive attacks.
That’s not necessarily a gameplay issue, but players looking for maximum visual spectacle may prefer Anti-Magic.
In terms of actual performance, Hollow remains extremely strong.
Ulquiorra’s Ultimate Cutscene
Just like Asta, Ulquiorra comes with an impressive ultimate.
The cutscene is easily one of the standout moments of the update and perfectly captures the power of Segunda Etapa.
The developers clearly spent a lot of effort making both ultimates feel special, and Hollow’s finisher is no exception.
If you’re a Bleach fan, this move alone will probably make Hollow one of your favorite abilities.
Which Ability Is Better?
After testing both abilities, there isn’t a clear winner because they excel in different areas.
Choose Asta If You Want:
- Higher burst damage
- Fast melee combat
- Aggressive playstyles
- Strong combo potential
- Flashier combat effects
Choose Ulquiorra If You Want:
- Better range
- Easier crowd control
- Safer gameplay
- More reliable attacks
- Strong area damage
That said, many players currently lean slightly toward Ulquiorra because the additional range makes gameplay feel smoother in most situations.
Having strong damage while being able to hit enemies from farther away is always valuable.
Performance in Raids
Both abilities perform extremely well in raid content.
Asta shines when bosses stay within melee range, allowing him to unleash devastating damage combos.
Ulquiorra feels more comfortable during chaotic fights because his attacks can reach enemies more consistently and cover larger areas.
If you’re mainly focused on raid farming, Hollow may have a slight advantage due to its versatility.
However, the difference isn’t large enough to make Anti-Magic a bad choice.
The Anime Apocalypse update may only add two abilities, but both feel powerful enough to completely change your loadout.
Anti-Magic delivers incredible damage and flashy melee combat, making it one of the best Majestic abilities currently available. Meanwhile, Hollow offers fantastic range, strong area attacks, and a limited-time questline that every player should complete before it’s gone.
If you’re deciding which one to focus on first, unlock Ulquiorra while the event is active, then start spending your rolls chasing Asta. That way you’ll secure the limited reward while still working toward one of the strongest abilities in the game.
