Fishing in Bridger Western looks simple—and it is—but if you don’t understand how it actually works, you’ll end up wasting time or missing out on some of the best rewards in the game.
This guide breaks everything down cleanly so you can fish efficiently from the start.
Bridger Western Fishing Guide – Fast Money, XP & Farming
If you spawn at Red Corner, you’re already close.
- Press H to summon your horse
- Ride straight toward the docks
- Follow the train tracks if you’re lost
- Or hop on a train and get off near the Taco Bait Shop
That area is the main fishing hub where most players start.
How Fishing Works
Once you reach the fishing area:
- Talk to the NPC
- Buy a Fishing Rod (150 Mula)
- Buy Bait
- Equip your fishing rod
- Wait for bubbles
- Click when the bubbles reach your rod
That’s it—no complicated mechanics.
Bait
A lot of players misunderstand this part.
- You don’t “use” bait manually
- Just keep it in your inventory
Effect:
- Fish bite faster (roughly 2x speed)
So always carry bait if you’re serious about farming.
Where You Can Fish
- Any water area works
- Main docks are safest for beginners
- Swamp area does NOT work for fishing
You can move to quieter spots if the main dock gets too crowded.
Everything You Can Get From Fishing
Fishing isn’t just about fish—you’re rolling for multiple rewards every time.
Fish (Basic Income Source)
- Cod
- Bass
- Snapper
- Golden Bass (rare)
All of these are mainly for selling.
Simple purpose:
→ Convert into Mula
Chests (Hidden Value Drops)
Sometimes you’ll get a chest instead of a fish.
From chests, you can get:
- Mula
- Ammo packs
- Dynamite / Molotovs
- Utility items
But the real value comes from rare drops.
Dog’s Bane Herb (Very Important Item)
This is one of the best items you can get.
What it does:
- Reduces your age (up to minimum ~20)
- Resets your Stand
- Can be sold for ~2500 Mula
This item alone makes fishing worth it, especially long-term.
Mare’s Leg (Weapon Craft Item)
- Can be turned into a gun
- Costs around 1.5k Mula to craft
- Deals solid damage
Good early weapon if you want something reliable.
Arrow Shard (Main Goal)
This is what most players are actually farming for.
- Around 0.5% drop chance
- Can give you a Stand
Important notes:
- Very rare
- Cannot give certain Stands (like D4C, Tusk, evolved variants)
This is the safest way to grind for a Stand, but also the slowest.
Fishing Mini-Event Outcomes
- Fish – Basic reward that converts directly into money
- Chest – Loot container with items, money, or rare drops
- Mare’s Leg – Craftable weapon drop from fishing pool
- Arrow Shard – Rare item used to obtain a Stand
Best Fishing Strategy
If you want results faster:
- Always use bait
- Fish in slightly less crowded areas
- Sell regularly instead of hoarding
- Combine fishing with corpse part hunting
The smartest players don’t just fish—they multitask.
