This Jujutsu Shenanigans Hanami & MeiMei update kinda dropped outta nowhere, but I’m not gonna lie—it’s actually pretty solid. I just went through everything, so let me walk you through it exactly how it feels in-game.

First off, yeah… we got Hanami. I didn’t really see many people guessing her, but here we are. And remember, this update was supposed to bring two characters—so the second one is what they’re calling Crow Charmer, which honestly looks like Miwa, but we’ll get into that in a second.

Hanami

Starting with Hanami.

One thing you’ll notice immediately—her model is slightly bigger than the default character. Not a huge difference, but it’s there, and it probably means she has a bit more HP.

Now the M1… this is where it gets weird.

She doesn’t really have a normal M1 combo. It’s basically just one repeated hit.
Even if you try up or down variations, it doesn’t really change anything. It’s the same attack. Definitely different from what we’re used to.

R Ability (Floral Field)

So her R drops this kind of flower field.

And I’m gonna be real with you—I didn’t fully understand what this does at first.

  • It doesn’t slow
  • It doesn’t visibly deal damage
  • HP didn’t change when I tested

So yeah… not super clear. My guess is it might reduce incoming damage or have some hidden effect, but as of testing, it’s kinda unclear.

Hanami Skills

Skill 1

She sends out vines forward with pretty solid range.

  • Goes a decent distance
  • Breaks block, which is really nice
  • Also pulls the enemy toward you

You can actually follow up with M1 after it, which feels good.

Skill 2

Short-range attack.

  • Doesn’t break block
  • Range is pretty limited

It’s fine, but definitely not something you throw out randomly from far.

Skill 3

This one throws out projectiles and applies some kind of effect.

Now this is where things get confusing again.

  • It puts these “plant-like marks” on the enemy
  • But… I couldn’t clearly see what it actually does

I tested:

  • Using other skills after it
  • Waiting for damage over time
  • Combining with R

Nothing obvious happened. So either:

  • It has a hidden trigger
  • Or it’s just not fully clear yet

Skill 4

Used this hoping it would explain the mechanic… but yeah, still didn’t make it clear.

So overall, Hanami feels:

  • Unique
  • A bit confusing right now
  • Probably needs more testing to fully understand

But she definitely seems different compared to other characters.

Important Note About Hanami

She’s a main character (standard slot), not a sub.

That means:

  • She’ll likely get an awakening later
  • More mechanics could be added

Right now she only has 4 skills + specials, no variants.

Mei Mei

Now moving to Mei Mei.

She’s a sub character, so keep that in mind:

  • No awakening (at least for now)
  • What you see is basically what you get

M1 Attacks

Her M1s are actually really clean.

She uses a big axe, and:

  • Down version looks good
  • Up version also solid

Nothing crazy mechanically, but visually it’s really nice.

R Ability

This one is interesting.

  • You dash forward
  • You go up along with the enemy

It feels like a setup tool, probably better when combined with other skills.

I tried doing air combos after it, but yeah… doesn’t really chain like that.

Mei Mei Skills

Skill 1

Forward dash + axe hit.

  • Simple
  • No real continuation

Just a straightforward engage tool.

Skill 2

Another attack, but surprisingly…

No crows involved.

Which honestly caught me off guard, because you’d expect her whole kit to revolve around crows.

Skill 3

Visually really good.

Nothing too crazy mechanically, but it looks clean and fits her style.

Skill 4 (Crow Ability)

Okay, this is the most confusing part of her kit.

So:

  • You summon a crow
  • You can either attack with it
  • Or use it to move around

But the way it works is… kinda inconsistent.

Sometimes:

  • It lets you fly
    Sometimes:
  • It attacks
    Sometimes:
  • It just doesn’t do what you expect

I tried:

  • Using it after other skills
  • Aiming differently
  • Resetting cooldowns

And yeah… still feels unclear.

Also:

  • You can only summon one crow at a time

So no multi-crow attacks or anything like that.

Finishers

Quick look at finishers:

  • Crow Charmer has some clean ones, especially on the second move
  • Hanami barely has any, which kinda makes sense with her kit—but there is at least one

Higuruma Rework

Now onto Higuruma, and yeah—he plays different now.

He’s way more of a rushdown character. You’re basically meant to stay on top of people.

Changes:

  • Judgment’s Reach (Move 3)
Massive range now, and you can use it twice. Second hit slams down.
  • Pressing Charges (Move 4)
Kick into attack. You can use it twice, but the difference isn’t super clear.

Also—if you don’t have the gavel out, you only do the kick.

  • Removed:
    • Extended swings variant is gone
    • No more unstun before final hit
  • Health reduced to 90

Extra stuff:

  • You now have an R special on Judgment’s Reach
Instead of hitting, you fly toward the enemy. It’s like a fake-out tool.

Ultimate:

  • You can now heal when the domain ends

Overall, he feels more aggressive and less technical.

Other Changes

  • Creator Clash – still being worked on, not fully there yet
  • Toto balance changes – a LOT of them, not going through everything here
  • Head of Hay tweak – final melee attack animation changed + guarantees projection if freezing
  • Ranked Duels – destruction disabled
  • Workshop updates – saves info across categories now
  • Skill Builder – got a bunch of upgrades (this is huge for creators)
  • 21 new emotes + some old ones reverted

Honestly? Solid update.

Hanami is simple but strong.
Crow Charmer is probably the highlight—super fun, combo-heavy, and just feels fresh.
Higuruma rework makes him way more aggressive.

If you play for combos, you’re eating good this update.

Let me know what you think about everything, especially that Higuruma rework—I feel like people are gonna be split on that.
