Seven Deadly Sins Origin Tier List – 7D Sins Origin Units

Seven Deadly Sins Origin is finally stepping into its global launch, and if there’s one thing players quickly realize after the first few hours, it’s that team composition matters far more than simple rarity. Characters in Origin aren’t just defined by their stats — their weapon kits, burst interactions, and elemental synergy all shape the early meta.

During beta testing, certain characters consistently stood out because they interacted extremely well with the game’s Burst system, which is essentially the core damage mechanic of combat. When enemies enter Burst state, the element that triggered it deals massively increased damage. Because of this, characters that can build Burst gauge quickly or amplify Burst damage immediately became meta-defining.

Below is a breakdown of the launch roster based on practical performance in raids, bosses, and general gameplay. If you’re starting the game and wondering who deserves your resources first, this guide should give you a clear direction.

S Tier

These units shape the early game meta and fit into multiple team compositions. If you pull them early, they are absolutely worth building.

Meliodas

Meliodas quickly became one of the strongest characters in the beta, and it’s not hard to understand why once you see how his kits function in battle.

He has several weapon styles, but two stood out significantly:

Dual Sword Kit

This build shines in early raid content because of its survivability. The ultimate attack grants life steal, and because the entire team shares a single HP bar, Meliodas effectively becomes a pseudo-healer for the party. In tough fights like Red Demon or Gray Demon raids, this sustain can mean the difference between victory and a wipe.

Sword Kit

Once players become comfortable with dodging and boss mechanics, this form becomes the real monster. When enemies enter Burst mode, Meliodas’ abilities scale incredibly hard, allowing him to unleash massive damage spikes.

The reason he feels so powerful is simple:
Meliodas doesn’t just benefit from Burst — his kit amplifies Burst damage even further, letting him hit absurd numbers when the mechanic triggers.

If you want a character that can carry through most of the early game, Meliodas is the safest bet.

Jericho

Jericho is one of those characters that feels incredibly smooth once you start using her.

Her standout mechanic comes from her dual sword kit, which allows her to teleport behind enemies after landing critical hits. In a game where bosses constantly reposition and attack patterns can be tricky, this mobility helps maintain pressure while avoiding damage.

But what really makes Jericho special is her Burst gauge generation.

She fills the gauge extremely quickly, which means:

  • More frequent Burst windows
  • More opportunities for Meliodas to unleash nukes
  • Faster boss phase transitions

Because of this, Jericho fits into nearly any team composition. She’s not just damage — she’s a tempo engine for the entire party.

Diane

Diane became a favorite among many beta players, particularly those running Earth-focused teams.

Her nunchuck build brings strong damage and control through a powerful mechanic: Petrify.

Petrified enemies are completely immobilized and take increased Earth and physical damage, which immediately makes Diane a cornerstone for Earth compositions.

She also brings something many players underestimate early on: defensive scaling. In Seven Deadly Sins Origin, enemies actually hit very hard, especially in higher difficulty raids. Diane’s defensive boosts help the team survive longer fights.

In short, she’s a mix of control, survivability, and damage — a rare combination.

Manny

Every RPG eventually has a character that fills the role of the universal buffer. In Origin’s early meta, Manny fits that role perfectly.

Her toolkit includes:

  • Critical damage buffs
  • Ultimate damage boosts
  • Defense reduction for enemies
  • Cooldown resets for allies

Because these buffs apply broadly across elements, Manny can slot into almost any team.

She feels similar to classic RPG supports like Bennett from Genshin Impact — quick to swap in, provide massive buffs, then swap out again while your DPS characters do the real damage.

For players trying to maximize burst damage rotations, Manny is incredibly valuable.

A Tier

These characters are extremely strong but may require specific team compositions to reach their full potential.

Elaine

Elaine might not sit in S Tier, but she’s dangerously close.

Her entire kit revolves around increasing Burst efficiency, which directly benefits nearly every DPS character in the game.

This means:

  • Burst triggers faster
  • Burst windows occur more often
  • DPS characters like Meliodas deal more damage

In longer fights, this adds up to a massive damage increase for the entire team.

She also provides damage reduction, making the team slightly more durable in difficult encounters.

The reason she sits in A Tier rather than S Tier is simply balance — the S Tier already contains multiple universal characters. But realistically, Elaine can easily perform at S Tier levels depending on the team.

King

King is another key piece of the Earth composition puzzle.

His passives allow him to accumulate Magic Points, which can then be converted into a massive attack boost for Earth allies. At maximum stacks, the buff becomes extremely strong.

Combined with Diane’s petrify effects, King helps push Earth teams into some of the highest sustained damage in the current launch meta.

While he’s less flexible outside of Earth teams, within that archetype he performs exceptionally well.

B Tier

These characters are useful but generally get replaced later once stronger supports appear.

Hendrickson

Hendrickson provides a respectable 40% combined damage boost for Dark units through attack and damage buffs.

For players running Dark compositions, he can be a strong temporary support. However, he struggles to compete with characters like Jericho or Elaine because he doesn’t contribute as much to Burst generation.

Since Burst mechanics drive most high-level damage strategies, this limits his long-term value.

Still, for early progression he’s a very respectable option.

Tior

Healing is surprisingly rare in the early roster, which gives Tior immediate value.

Her wand kit provides reliable healing abilities that can keep the shared team HP bar stable during tough encounters.

One advantage she has is that her value comes mainly from skills rather than her ultimate, meaning she doesn’t consume the team’s shared Magic Points. This makes her surprisingly efficient in longer fights.

While she will eventually be replaced by stronger supports, she’s extremely useful during early progression.

C Tier

These characters have interesting mechanics but lack proper team support at launch.

Tristan

Tristan actually has some impressive utility:

  • Burst efficiency buffs
  • Fire defense reduction
  • Fire attack reductions

The problem is simple: there isn’t a strong Fire DPS at launch to take advantage of these buffs.

If future characters introduce powerful Fire damage dealers, Tristan’s value could rise significantly.

Grimmore

Grimmore focuses on magic point generation and Burst support.

One of his most interesting mechanics restores magic points when Burst is activated, which theoretically allows for more frequent ultimates across the team.

In practice, he’s somewhat inconsistent, but he definitely has potential if future team compositions revolve around ultimate spam.

D Tier

These characters suffer mainly from incomplete team archetypes.

Examples include:

  • Draden
  • Hower
  • Gil Thunder
  • Dreyfus

Most of them revolve around niche mechanics like elemental buffs or damage-over-time strategies. Unfortunately, the current roster doesn’t provide enough synergy for these mechanics to shine.

If future updates introduce characters that enable those strategies, some of these units could become viable later on.

One thing became clear during beta testing: Seven Deadly Sins Origin heavily rewards elemental synergy and Burst management.

Characters who generate Burst faster or amplify its damage dominate the early meta. This is why units like Meliodas, Jericho, and Manny immediately rose to the top.

At launch, the Earth team composition appears the most complete, with strong synergy between Diane, King, and supporting units.

However, the meta is likely to shift quickly once new characters arrive. Units tied to Fire, Wind, or Lightning elements may rise dramatically once their teams become fully fleshed out.

For now, if you’re planning your early roster, focusing on Burst-focused characters and flexible supports will give you the smoothest progression.
