The Leprechaun Line Rod was introduced during the St. Patrick’s Day update in Fisch, and it is one of the strongest rods currently available for luck-based fishing. Unlike the Clover Rod that you can obtain with a code, the Leprechaun Line requires completing a long quest chain involving rare fish, special events, and multiple NPC tasks.
The process may look confusing at first, especially because part of the quest happens on a moving boat and several objectives depend on limited-time events. Once you understand how the system works, however, it becomes much easier to complete.
This guide explains every step in a clear order so you can unlock the Leprechaun Line Rod without getting lost.
Locate the Shamrock Express
Your journey starts with finding the Shamrock Express.
This is a special event boat that travels across the entire map. Unlike normal locations, it constantly moves in a circular route and does not despawn, so you simply need to sail around until you spot it.
Once you find the boat, climb aboard and look for the Clover Captain. He is the NPC who begins the main quest that eventually rewards the Leprechaun Line Rod.
Talk to him and accept the quest.
Step 1 – Bring the Captain One Gold Coin
The first task is simple but requires participating in the new event mechanic.
Gold coins are obtained from Pots of Gold, which appear at the end of a rainbow during the Rainbow Weather event.
When a rainbow appears somewhere on the map, travel to its end point. You will find a small island with a pot of gold waiting there. Interact with the pot and hold the claim button for about ten seconds to collect the reward.
Each pot gives:
- Event coins
- One gold coin
Once you obtain a gold coin, return to the Clover Captain on the Shamrock Express and give it to him to complete the first step.
Step 2 – Catch Three St. Patrick’s Fish
After collecting the pot rewards, something interesting happens.
The island at the end of the rainbow disappears, and in that exact location you can now fish in a special St. Patrick’s Day fishing area.
This area contains the limited St. Patrick’s Bestiary.
To complete the second quest objective, you must catch three fish from this event bestiary. The exact fish does not matter. Anything caught in that limited area counts toward the requirement.
Once you catch three of them, return to the captain to continue the quest.
Step 3 – Find a Four-Leaf Clover
Now the quest becomes more challenging.
You must find a Four-Leaf Clover, which spawns randomly across the map.
These clovers appear on any island with green grass, including locations like:
- Moosewood
- Terrapin
- Sunstone
- Roslit
- Forsaken Shores
Important details about clover spawns:
- A new clover appears roughly every 2–3 minutes
- They remain for about 30 minutes before disappearing
- Around 5–10 clovers may exist on the map at once
They can appear anywhere on grassy ground, so exploring different islands and scanning the grass carefully is the best strategy.
Once you find one, pick it up and return to the Clover Captain.
He does not take the clover, but he will confirm that you found it.
Step 4 – Catch a Rainbow Leviathan
Next, the captain asks for one of the most recognizable event fish: the Rainbow Leviathan.
You can catch this fish in the same St. Patrick’s fishing zone that appears after collecting all pots of gold during a rainbow event.
Because the Leviathan is rarer than the other event fish, using a rod with high luck stats helps significantly. Many players prefer rods with strong luck boosts or use luck potions during this step.
Once you catch the Rainbow Leviathan, return it to the captain to unlock the final stage of the quest.
Final Stage – Complete the 12 Leprechaun Quests
This is where the real grind begins.
The Shamrock Express contains twelve Leprechaun NPCs, and each one gives a separate mini quest. You must complete every single one before the captain rewards you with the rod.
Below are the main requirements from these NPCs.
Gold Coin Quest
One leprechaun asks for three gold coins, which you obtain from the pots of gold at rainbow locations.
Rainbow Ribbon Fish Quest
Another requires five Rainbow Ribbon Fish, which can be caught in the St. Patrick’s fishing area.
Clover Carp and Clover Collection
One NPC asks for:
- Two Clover Carps
- Three Four-Leaf Clovers
Both are part of the event content, meaning you must continue exploring islands and fishing during rainbow events.
Lucky Gold Mutations
A more difficult task requires returning:
- Lucky Gold mutated Fortune Flounder
- Lucky Gold mutated Rainbow Leviathan
You can create the lucky gold mutation using the Lucky Gloves item.
Mixed Fish Collection
Another leprechaun asks for a combination of event fish such as:
- Shamrock Salmon
- Clover Carp
- Rainbow Ribbon Fish
- Fortune Flounder
- Rainbow Leviathan
All of these can be caught within the St. Patrick’s fishing zone.
Shamrock Hunt Fish
The last group of quests involves Shamrock Hunt fish.
Normally, hunts such as Megalodon, Kraken, Leviathan, Bloopfish, and Sila occur across the game. With the event active, each hunt now has about a 25% chance to become a Shamrock Hunt.
When this happens, the creature appears with a green shamrock-themed version.
You must obtain these special versions:
- Shamrock Sila
- Shamrock Megalodon
- Shamrock Kraken
- Shamrock Bloopfish
- Shamrock Leviathan
Completing these hunts finishes the remaining leprechaun quests.
Claiming the Leprechaun Line Rod
After finishing all twelve NPC quests, return to the Clover Captain on the Shamrock Express.
He will reward you with the Leprechaun Line Rod.
This rod is extremely powerful, especially for players who focus on luck-based fishing.
Rod stats include:
- 30% Lure Speed
- 350% Luck
- 14% Resilience
Because of its massive luck boost, it is considered one of the best rods in the game for catching rare fish.
Several parts of the quest depend heavily on events and randomness, so a few strategies can help you progress faster.
Always watch for rainbow events because they trigger multiple parts of the quest. The moment a rainbow appears, travel there immediately.
When searching for four-leaf clovers, visit islands with large grassy areas and scan the ground carefully.
For the Rainbow Leviathan and other rare fish, use the rod with the highest luck you own and consider activating luck boosts during fishing sessions.
Finally, keep an eye on hunt events across the map, since you will need the Shamrock versions of several hunt creatures.
Unlocking the Leprechaun Line Rod is not quick, but it is one of the most rewarding quests in Fisch’s St. Patrick’s event. Once you complete it, you will own one of the strongest luck rods available, making rare catches significantly easier in future fishing sessions.
