When I first jumped into Nexis Piece, the very first thing I noticed was how unfinished it feels — and I don’t mean that in a bad way. It just clearly feels like a brand-new beta game. There are no codes yet, some sound effects are missing, and the combat feels a little rough early on.
But once you get past the first hour, the progression loop actually starts clicking. The early game is basically about surviving that awkward start, getting your first decent weapon, and then snowballing from there.

The opening quest honestly feels tougher than it probably should. You don’t have strong stats yet, and combat doesn’t hit very hard, so fights drag out longer than expected.
What threw me off at first was that the game has no level requirements for quests. You can pick up anything immediately, which sounds great until you realize your character isn’t strong enough yet to handle certain enemies comfortably.
Once you finish that first quest though, things suddenly smooth out. The difficulty drops a lot, and you can finally start farming properly instead of struggling through every fight.
Dual Katana
This part matters more than anything early on.
The moment you start getting iron, don’t waste time experimenting with random weapons. Just grab a katana and focus entirely on farming iron until you can craft the dual katana.
The difference between single katana and dual katana is huge. Once you switch, mobs start dropping much faster, and leveling stops feeling slow.
From there, your entire focus should be dumping stat points into your weapon so you can eventually reach the point where you’re basically one-shotting mobs. That’s when Nexis Piece finally starts feeling smooth instead of clunky.
Bicento weapon
After dual katana, the next big upgrade is the Bicento weapon.
It’s one of those items that immediately feels stronger the moment you equip it. Farming becomes noticeably faster, and you don’t feel like you’re chipping away at enemy health anymore.
Once you have Bicento, the early game grind basically turns into a straightforward loop: move between islands, pick up quests, and keep pushing your weapon stats higher.
Accessory
There’s one step that’s easy to miss but insanely important.
After getting Bicento, you should go back to the starter island and take a specific quest that rewards a limited accessory.
The quest itself is simple — you just kill starter mobs repeatedly — but the reward is extremely strong for early progression. It’s honestly one of those items that makes everything after it feel much easier.
This accessory is what lets you transition into the next phase without constantly struggling.
Farming
Once you have the accessory, you should move to Jujutsu Island and start farming the final quest there.
This is where progression really speeds up because that quest drops:
Boss tickets
Cursed spirits
Gems
And those three things are exactly what you need for unlocking stronger abilities and bosses.
This island is basically your main farming spot for a long time, especially if you want to grind efficiently.
Unlocking Sukuna
This process takes a bit, but it’s worth it.
First, you need to spawn the Vessel Boss and farm it until you get the Heart Vessel item. Once you have that, you take the related quest, which allows you to start farming the actual Sukuna boss.
From there, it’s just repeated boss farming until the moveset drops.
One thing that really matters here is making sure you have enough gems before starting this grind. Gems mostly come from the Jujutsu Island quest, so you’ll probably already have a decent amount if you farmed there properly.
After you finally get everything, you go to the Sukuna NPC in the center island to unlock the moveset.
Unlocking Sid
Compared to Sukuna, Sid is much more straightforward.
You just need a Cursed Spirit to spawn his boss, and that item also comes from the same Jujutsu Island quest mobs.
After beating Sid’s boss enough times, you collect the required items, then head to City Island where you can purchase Sid.
It’s basically a shorter grind loop than Sukuna.
Things That Honestly Don’t Matter Much Early
Some unlocks just aren’t worth stressing over.
Yoru isn’t very strong right now, so most players consider it mid. Saber, on the other hand, isn’t something you grind for at all — it comes from daily login rewards.
So early on, your attention should stay on weapon progression and boss farming instead of worrying about those.
Nexis Piece starts rough, but once you get past the awkward beginning, the grind loop becomes really satisfying.
It’s basically a rhythm of:
Getting stronger weapons
Farming quests faster
Unlocking bosses
Grinding movesets
Since the game is still in beta, some things feel unfinished — like missing sound effects and slightly clunky combat — but the core progression system is already solid.
