The JJK update in Anime Paradox added one of the rarest units in the entire game — Eternal Sukuna, and yeah… this one is not something you casually pull in a few runs. It’s one of those grind-heavy, luck-based units that you slowly work toward while wondering if the drop rate is actually real or just there to troll players.

If you’re trying to unlock him, here’s the full process explained clearly from start to finish so you know exactly what to do and what to expect.

Step 1: Understanding How Sukuna Actually Drops

Eternal Sukuna is not obtained from banners, summons, or regular gameplay rewards. Instead, he comes from Tier 13 Portals, which are currently the highest-level portal content in the game.

Here’s how the drop system works:

When you open a Tier 13 portal, you don’t directly get Sukuna. Instead, there is:

  • A 1% chance to get Sukuna’s special secret portal
  • Another 1% chance to get Gojo’s secret portal

So realistically, you’re farming for the chance to unlock another challenge — not the unit itself. That’s why this grind takes time.

Once you get Sukuna’s secret portal, that’s when the real challenge starts.

Step 2: Farming Cursed Energy for Portals

Before you can even attempt Tier 13 portals, you first need to obtain regular portals from the Sorcerer Shop.

Each portal costs:

500 Cursed Energy

You can earn cursed energy mainly through two methods:

The most reliable way is by playing the Shibuya City story map, where portals and cursed energy drops are tied to stage rewards. It’s not clearly shown in percentages, but repeated clears slowly build your supply.

You can also get cursed energy from redeem codes, which often provide a decent boost early on. These won’t sustain long-term farming, but they help speed up the initial grind.

Most players end up looping Shibuya City repeatedly because it’s the most consistent way to stack energy.

Step 3: Getting to Tier 13 Portals

Portals progress in tiers, meaning you must climb through lower-tier portals before reaching Tier 13.

This is where difficulty starts to spike hard.

By the time you reach Tier 13, enemies hit much harder, have higher HP pools, and require a well-built team to clear efficiently. Solo runs become very risky unless your units are heavily upgraded.

Most players handle this by running in groups or using a mix of strong DPS and support units to survive longer waves.

Step 4: Completing Sukuna’s Secret Portal

If luck finally gives you Sukuna’s secret portal, you unlock a 30-wave challenge stage.

This stage is significantly harder than normal Tier 13 runs.

You’re dealing with:

  • High enemy density
  • Tanky bosses
  • Long endurance gameplay

But here’s the important part:

Once you successfully complete the secret portal, Sukuna is guaranteed.

There’s no additional RNG after that point. The only real obstacle is surviving all 30 waves.

Step 5: Evolving Eternal Sukuna

Getting Sukuna isn’t the final step. He also has an evolution requirement.

To evolve him, you need:

5 Sukuna Fingers from the Sorcerer Shop

Each finger costs 20,000 cursed energy, meaning you need:

100,000 cursed energy total to fully evolve him.

This sounds brutal, but if you’re consistently running high-tier portals, the cursed energy income starts stacking much faster than in early game.

The reason players push so hard for him is simple — his kit is extremely strong.

He has a unique energy meter that fills during combat, allowing him to gain massive damage boosts when fully charged. He also applies strong bleed effects, debuffs enemy damage, and increases the damage they receive.

On top of that, his Domain Expansion ability deals extremely high burst damage when activated, making him one of the most powerful late-game DPS units.

Even without perfect stat rolls, he performs incredibly well.

The Real Difficulty Isn’t Luck — It’s Consistency

Most players assume the hardest part is the 1% drop rate, but honestly, the bigger challenge is maintaining consistent farming.

You’ll spend most of your time:

Grinding cursed energy
Clearing Shibuya repeatedly
Running Tier portals over and over

Eventually, the drop happens — but it always feels like it takes longer than expected.

That’s just how rare units in Anime Paradox are designed.
