The Microphone Rod comes from one of those blink-and-you-miss-it mini updates that Fisch occasionally drops without any warning. There’s no big quest marker, no obvious tutorial pointing you toward it, and if you don’t already know where to start, you could easily spend hours fishing normally without ever realizing this rod even exists.

The whole thing is structured like a small scavenger hunt mixed with a hidden puzzle sequence, and the game expects you to figure out most of it on your own.

How to Get the Microphone Rod in Fisch (Secret Quest)

The first step begins with a very specific NPC called the Twitch Viewer. He’s basically your entry point into the quest, and once you talk to him, he immediately sends you off on a simple but important collection task. You need to catch three items before anything else can progress: a Puffer Fish, a Mushroom Crab, and a Rubber Ducky. None of these are especially rare, but they do require some patience depending on your luck and fishing location. Once you’ve collected all three, you just return to the NPC and talk to him again, and this is where the quest quietly shifts into its hidden phase.

After turning in the items, the NPC gives you a vague hint about finding a “secret,” which isn’t marked on your map at all. You need to head behind Moosewood and travel out toward a small, easy-to-miss island sitting off the back side of the area. It doesn’t look particularly important when you first arrive, which is probably why many players sail right past it without noticing anything unusual.

On this island, you’ll find three statues that act as the main puzzle mechanic. Each statue corresponds to one of the items you collected earlier. One requires the Puffer Fish, another takes the Rubber Ducky, and the last one is slightly trickier because it’s located partially underwater and requires the Mushroom Crab. Once you place all three items correctly, you’ll hear a sound indicating that something has opened nearby.

This unlocks a hidden entrance leading into a secret room. Inside, the quest takes another turn. You’ll need to catch a special limited fish called the Clout Carp. This fish is part of the quest itself, not just a random collectible, and once you catch it, it unlocks the next door inside the hidden area.

Beyond that door, you’ll meet another NPC tied to the streamer theme of the quest. Instead of fishing tasks, this part shifts into a scavenger objective where you have to repair a broken router. The room contains multiple red boxes and loose cables scattered around, and you need to locate twelve of them in total. It’s less about difficulty and more about carefully searching the environment so you don’t miss any tucked into corners.

Once you’ve found all the required components, you interact with the router to fix it, then speak to the NPC again. This final interaction completes the entire quest chain and rewards you with the Microphone Rod.

Stat-wise, the rod is designed more for fast fishing than high control. It has extremely high lure speed at 100 percent and solid luck at 80 percent, meaning you’ll hook fish quickly and have a decent chance at better catches. However, it completely lacks control, which means handling tougher fish can feel rough, especially if you’re used to rods that offer more stability. It does provide some resilience and a respectable maximum weight limit, making it usable for mid-tier fishing rather than purely early-game content.

In practice, the biggest strength of the Microphone Rod is its instant-feel catching speed. It’s not a meta-breaking rod, and it doesn’t seem to have any hidden mutation bonuses or special effects, but it’s still a fun and very efficient tool for quick farming sessions.

The entire quest feels like a small tribute to streamer culture inside the game, and because it arrived as a secret update, many players only discovered it through word of mouth. If you want to add this rod to your collection, the key is simply following the quest chain in the correct order, since missing even one step can make the whole process feel confusing.

Once you know where to go, though, the whole thing is actually pretty short. It’s less about difficulty and more about knowing the hidden path the game expects you to take.
