This update quietly changes how Fisch actually plays at every stage. A lot of old habits no longer work the same way, especially around hunts, luck stacking, and passive income systems. If you skim the patch notes, it all sounds nice. If you understand what it really means, it completely reshapes progression.
Below is a proper breakdown of what changed and how it affects real gameplay.
Hunt Rework
Hunts are no longer random spikes that either bless or ruin your session. The system now actively responds to player behavior.
Hunts will spawn more frequently the longer you fish in their designated areas. Even more important, hunt chance now scales with the number of players fishing in the same area. If a zone feels dead, hunts will be rare. If multiple people are actively fishing, hunts ramp up fast.
This makes public servers significantly better for hunt farming than private ones, especially during peak hours.
Sundial Totems were also adjusted. In public servers, they now have a 1-minute cooldown, meaning you can no longer brute-force time manipulation nonstop. Timing and coordination matter more now.
New Disturbance Stat
Disturbance is a brand-new stat tied directly to hunt spawning frequency. Higher disturbance means hunts activate more often.
Later-game rods now naturally have higher disturbance values, which quietly buffs them without touching raw stats. Some rods also feature a Hunt Focus, meaning they significantly boost the spawn rate of a specific hunt fish.
This makes rod choice matter far more for targeted hunt farming. You are no longer just choosing damage or value, you are choosing how aggressively the game rolls hunt events.
Luck Rework
Luck has been fully rebuilt from the ground up.
Before this update, luck sources stacked in confusing, sometimes broken ways. Lower rarities could feel harder to obtain than higher rarities, which made no logical sense. That behavior is now gone.
Luck values on rods, potions, weather effects, and events now scale cleanly and predictably. If something says it boosts luck, it actually does so in a way you can feel over time.
This indirectly buffs consistent farming strategies and removes the frustration of chasing specific fish that felt statistically impossible before.
Rod Journal Rewards
The Rod Journal is no longer just a checklist.
Every rod you unlock now grants an XP reward that can be claimed directly from the journal. This means collecting rods is no longer a flex-only activity, it actively helps you level faster.
Completing the entire Rod Journal rewards a Collector’s Lantern, and completing both the Rod Journal and Fish Bestiary together unlocks a special rod. This is one of the first updates that seriously rewards long-term completionist play.
Personal Aquariums Buffed
Personal Aquariums were heavily underwhelming before. That is no longer the case.
C$ generation has been slightly improved, but the real change is depth. Two additional fish slots were added, and the item pool was massively expanded.
You can now obtain items like Thalass Essence, Tide Essence, Requis Essence, multiple Hunt Totems, rare weather totems, whistles, high-tier potions, relics, eggs, and even Clearcast Totems directly through aquarium activity.
This turns aquariums into a legitimate long-term farming system instead of a novelty feature.
Chest Pity System
A pity system has been added to extremely rare chest items.
The following items now have pity tracking:
Dead Man’s Tentacle
Dead Man’s Treasure
Auric Rod
Sunken Rod
This means repeated failures are now guaranteed to progress you toward success, instead of wasting endless time with no feedback. For rare rod hunters, this is one of the most important quality-of-life updates so far.
Clearcast Totem
A new Clearcast Totem can be purchased at Moosewood.
This totem instantly clears unwanted weather, giving players direct control over fishing conditions. This is especially important now that luck, hunts, and fish pools are more tightly tied to weather states.
It removes a lot of waiting and server-hopping frustration.
Trade Plaza Upgrade – Real Market Transparency
All tradeable items except fish now display Recent Average Prices.
This completely changes trading behavior. No more guessing values, no more being scammed because of unclear pricing. You can now see real market trends before buying or selling, which stabilizes the economy and rewards informed players.
