This Detective Duck THE THEATER Guide Walkthrough covers the full Theater map from start to finish, including every puzzle, all item locations, the correct door code, and the logic behind choosing the right suspect.
How to Start the Theater Investigation
Once the map begins, read the clue text near the entrance. It states that the Staff Room Key is hidden behind a poster. This is your first objective and unlocks the main puzzle chain.
Interact with the poster on the wall to obtain the Staff Room Key, then use it to open the staff room door.
Staff Room Puzzle – Finding the Code Clues
Inside the staff room, locate the crumpled paper. This note is essential and lists five hints:
-
Toolbox
-
Staff Room Sign
-
J6
-
X
-
Locker
Each hint corresponds to one digit of a five-digit code.
Code Digit Locations Explained
Toolbox → 2
Find the toolbox in the room. The number 2 is clearly marked on it.
Staff Room Sign → 0
Remove the staff room sign and inspect it using the magnifying glass. You’ll find a hidden 0.
J6 Seat → 8
Go to the theater seating area.
Find row J, then count to seat 6.
The number 8 is written on the seat.
So far, the code is 2 – 0 – 8.
Director’s Room – Solving “X”
To access the director’s room:
-
Remove the wig nearby
-
Pick up the Director’s Room Key
-
Unlock the director’s door
Inside, remove the wall clock and use the UV light. The text appears upside down, but when viewed correctly, it reveals:
X = 5
This gives you the fourth digit.
Backstage Room – Final Digit
Return to the main area and locate the Backstage Room Key, hidden in the corner.
Unlock the backstage room and open the locker inside.
Use the UV light on the locker to reveal the final digit:
3
Final Door Code
The complete code is:
20853
Enter this code to unlock the next area.
Crate, Plank, and Escape Sequence
After entering the code:
-
Collect the axe from the locker
-
Use the axe to break the crate
-
Take the lighter found inside
-
Burn the oil-soaked plank using the lighter
While the plank is burning, pick up the metal stick nearby.
Once the plank is gone, head down and use the metal stick to pry open the door.
Use the chair to jump out and escape the area.
Elevator & VIP Lounge Access
Call the elevator and wait for it to arrive.
Ride it down, then back up.
Upstairs, collect the VIP Lounge Key.
Return to the main theater area and unlock the VIP lounge to officially end the investigation phase.
Choosing the Correct Suspect (Important)
There is no direct weapon evidence in this case, so the correct suspect must be chosen through logic.
Key facts:
-
The victim collapsed during a performance
-
There was a blackout
-
No blood was found at the crime scene
This rules out physical attacks and weapons. A violent kill would leave blood.
The only plausible method is poisoning.
The cook prepared food for the performers, including the victim, making them the only suspect with clear opportunity and method.
✅ Correct Suspect: The Cook
Select the cook to successfully complete the case.
The Theater map focuses heavily on deduction, not just puzzles. Solving the map efficiently requires paying attention to environmental clues and understanding the crime details rather than guessing.
