The Shark Devil Contract in Devil Hunter is one of those rewards that feels legendary, not because the game hands it to you easily, but because you actually have to earn it through patience, combat skill, and a bit of stubborn determination. It is tied to a multi-step questline that tests both your navigation skills and your ability to survive tough devil fights.

One important thing to understand right away is this: if you deny the contract when it is offered, you will not get another chance. The game treats that decision as final, so you must be absolutely sure before you press deny.

Devil Hunter Shark Devil Contract Guide – How to Get

Your journey begins at the Public Safety Headquarters. You need to go all the way down to Floor Zero, where things feel darker, quieter, and more dangerous than the rest of the building. On the right side of this floor, you will find the Shark Devil waiting. Talking to him triggers the questline because he senses that you want his power. Once you accept, there is no backing out of the mission itself, and from here the real challenge begins.

First Trial: Defeating the Octopus Devil

The first major obstacle is the Octopus Devil. This fight is intentionally difficult because the game wants to see whether you are actually strong enough to wield a Shark Devil contract. Many players struggle here because the Octopus Devil has unpredictable attack patterns, long-range ink sprays, and fast movement. You cannot just button mash your way through this battle. You need timing, patience, and a solid build.

A recommended setup is around 75 Health and 75 Strength, paired with the Fleshbreaker weapon. This gives you enough durability to survive mistakes while still dealing meaningful damage. Learning when to dodge, when to block, and when to attack is far more important than raw power. Some attacks feel nearly impossible to avoid, but if you stay calm and read the movement patterns, victory becomes achievable.

Finding the Octopus Devil Location

To reach the Octopus Devil, you start again from HQ and move toward the Eternity Devil area. From there, follow the main street past the skateboard zone and shopping district. When you reach an arc bridge, make a sharp left underneath it. This leads you toward a parallel street across from your position. That street contains a large warehouse, and inside or near that warehouse is where the Octopus Devil spawns. Once you find it, there is no escaping the fight.

Second Step: Preparing for the Fish Devil Contract

After defeating the Octopus Devil, your next objective involves dealing with the Fish Devil. To interact with it properly, you need a Worm Carcass. You can obtain this by going toward the pond area near the Eternity Devil path. Near the water, you will find a Fisherman NPC who asks you to retrieve his lost worm.

Once you pick up the worm, returning it leads to conflict. The Fisherman turns hostile due to shady dealings involving devil contracts. You do not necessarily have to kill him, but defeating him ensures you keep the Worm Carcass, which stays in your inventory and becomes crucial for the next phase.

Interacting with the Fish and Sea Cucumber Devils

With the Worm Carcass in hand, you can now approach Fish Devils through Devil Doors or by entering Eternity Devil zones. You do not actually need to fully sign a contract with them. Simply initiating dialogue is enough to register your progress in the quest. Even if you press deny, the game still counts it as completed, which is a helpful detail many players miss.

You will also need to defeat certain Sea Cucumber Devils and possibly eliminate a few players, depending on your specific quest requirements. These encounters are less about brute strength and more about staying alert and completing objectives efficiently.

Final Step: Receiving the Shark Devil Contract

Once all parts of the quest are finished, you return to the Shark Devil. At this point, the game grants you the contract regardless of whether you actually want it or not, as long as you completed every requirement. Even if you deny the final contract by accident, the quest still counts as complete, though you lose the ability to use the Shark Devil’s power permanently.

The Shark Devil Contract is not just another ability. It represents your growth as a Devil Hunter, proving that you can handle difficult enemies, navigate complex maps, and make smart decisions under pressure. The quest feels personal, tense, and rewarding, especially when you finally reach the end after struggling through the Octopus Devil battle and the Fish Devil trials.
