With the global launch, the meta in Bleach: Soul Resonance has settled enough that we can clearly see which characters stand out, which ones are solid, and which are mostly fillers. This updated Bleach Soul Resonance Tier List is based on their launch performance, versatility, and how well they fit into real teams rather than just raw numbers in isolation.
This guide follows the structure shown in the video:
- Must-Have
- SS Tier
- S Tier DPS
- S Tier Supports
- A & B Tier SRs
You can use this as a reference when building teams and deciding where to invest your early resources.
Must-Have
Kisuke Urahara (SSR – Slash / Support)
Kisuke is the one character who comfortably sits in his own category: Must-Have.
The reason is his absurdly strong core passive:
- Every time he uses a special attack, technique, ultimate, or counter, he grants the entire team 1 stack of Reishi Analysis.
- Each stack gives 10% attack to the whole team for 15 seconds.
- It stacks up to 3 times by default (30% teamwide attack).
- With his exclusive weapon stamp, that cap goes up to 6 stacks, turning into a massive team damage engine.
On top of that, his ultimate:
- Deals good damage
- Grants up to 50% teamwide critical damage for 25 seconds
He fits into any team, regardless of type, and dramatically boosts their overall DPS. In terms of pure account value, Kisuke is the best support in the game and the one SSR you can always justify building.
SS Tier
These characters are either hard-carry DPS or extremely versatile units that can handle most content with the right support.
Bankai Ichigo (SSR – Slash / Full Assault)
Bankai Ichigo is still one of the top damage dealers in the game and the face of the limited banner.
Why he’s SS:
- Insane damage output, especially in Hollowfication
- Teleport-style skill that marks enemies and then teleports to them for powerful follow-ups
- Hollofied mode gives him a huge spike in damage and allows creative, high-pressure combos
- His final hit during his ultimate chains can wipe out large chunks of boss HP
When paired with Kisuke’s attack and crit damage buffs, Bankai Ichigo can shred missions and bosses so fast that you can almost build a full team around just him and good supports.
Kaname Tosen (SSR – Thrust / Tactic)
Tosen is a highly versatile Tactic unit who comfortably belongs in SS.
What makes him stand out:
- Has a battlefield skill that adds extra damage and utility even when he is not actively on the field
- Consistently inflicts Wound (bleed-style damage)
- Wound stacks deal continuous damage and synergize perfectly with boss fights
- His skills are fast, with teleports and quick strikes that let him deal damage while often avoiding enemy hits at the same time
With Kisuke backing him up, Tosen becomes a frighteningly efficient boss killer and all-round offensive Tactic unit. If you are not pulling Bankai Ichigo and want a strong standard banner carry, Tosen is a very smart pick.
S Tier
These are your primary damage dealers. Build them well, give them proper support, and they can carry most fights.
Ikaku Madarame (SSR – Thrust / Full Assault)
Ikaku is one of the strongest pure DPS options when it comes to group and wave content.
Highlights:
- Shines when he enters Bankai, where his damage explodes
- His hold basic gathers enemies into an area, allowing huge AoE damage
- Final hit of his ultimate can wipe multiple HP bars from bosses once he’s fully buffed
Ikaku pairs extremely well with Tosen and other thrust-focused supports and battlefield skills. He is a monster in missions with lots of enemies.
Yoruichi Shihōin (SSR – Strike / Full Assault)
Yoruichi is another top-tier DPS with a high-speed, flashy playstyle.
Why she’s S-tier DPS:
- Very fast and hard-hitting, with insane mobility
- Her hold skill has her darting around the screen and performing stylish, rapid strikes
- Her Shunko state gives a huge attack boost and ramps up her damage heavily
She works especially well with:
- Sajin, who buffs Strike damage and provides shielding
If you enjoy fast, agile melee characters, Yoruichi is one of the most fun and effective SSR units to use.
Uryu Ishida (SR – Ranged / Full Assault with Battlefield Skill)
Among all SR units, SR Uryu stands out as a surprisingly powerful DPS.
What makes him special:
- Has a battlefield skill that hits in a large area and comes with big multipliers (over 1,000% attack as AoE)
- Many of his skills sit in the high damage range (hundreds of percent attack multipliers)
- Extremely focused on pure offensive output
He is not on the same level as SSR full assault characters, but for an SR, he punches far above his weight class and is worth investing in if you are low on SSR DPS.
S Tier
These are support-style units that provide buffs, shields, utility, crowd control, and valuable battlefield skills.
Byakuya Kuchiki (SSR – Slash / Tactic)
Byakuya acts more like a high-value support/Tactic piece than a full DPS.
Why he is so valuable:
- His role is to stay active on the battlefield briefly, then allow you to switch into your main DPS
- His skills and Bankai animations continue to deal damage while you swap to another character
- Works especially well with Bankai Ichigo as a Slash-focused support piece
You rotate him in, let him set up damage and battlefield presence, then switch to your main carry to clean up.
Sajin Komamura (SSR – Strike / Tactic / Support Hybrid)
Sajin bridges defense and offensive support.
What he brings:
- Generates shields that persist even after you switch characters
- Buffs Strike damage, making him perfect with Yoruichi
- His Bankai is not only visually impressive but also hits hard while keeping him on the field as a durable presence
He is not built to be your main DPS, but as a support/tank hybrid, Sajin is extremely solid and valuable for Strike-based teams.
Rukia Kuchiki (SR – Frost / Tactic)
SR Rukia is one of the strongest SR supports and an excellent pickup for almost any roster.
Key strengths:
- Has a battlefield skill that can freeze and immobilize enemies
- Provides versatile crowd control plus extra damage from off-field
- Can assist your main DPS whenever you swap, sending out ice attacks that continue to pressure enemies
She is a perfect budget pick to slot into many early-game teams while you build your SSR core.
Yachiru Kusajishi (SR – Slash / Support)
Yachiru is a Slash-focused attack buffer, especially good with Bankai Ichigo.
Why she is notable:
- Offers attack buffs specifically for Slash-type characters
- Has a unique passive where she enters a spectator mode when you switch out, still providing buffs from the sidelines
- Designed to amplify Slash-heavy teams and synergize with top tier Slash DPS
She is basically an SR version of a dedicated attack buffer focused on one type.
Orihime Inoue (SR – Spirit / Support)
Orihime’s kit leans heavily into traditional support.
What she does:
- Provides heals and shields
- Offers safety and sustain for players who struggle with dodging or complex mechanics
Right now, the game’s early content does not always require a healer, but as more difficult events appear, Orihime’s value could rise. For players who prefer safe, forgiving gameplay, she is a reliable option.
A & B Tier – Notable SRs and Filler Options
These characters are usable and can clear content, but they either lack the ceiling, utility, or overall impact of the higher-tier picks.
A Tier SR Highlights
Shikai Ichigo (SR – Slash / Full Assault)
Solid damage once you build his spiritual pressure and equip his weapon stamp
Can be used in functional teams, but he is clearly behind top SSR DPS like Ikaku, Yoruichi, and Bankai Ichigo
No battlefield skill, which limits his off-field value
Renji Abarai (SR – Thrust / Full Assault)
Has a useful hold skill that gathers enemies in a similar style to Ikaku
Decent damage for early game, but nothing meta-defining
Ururu (SR – Spirit / Ranged)
Fun ranged playstyle
Decent damage and utility, but not on the same level as SSR carries or SR Uryu in pure damage terms
Nemu (Neu) (SR – Strike / Support)
Provides attack and Strike-based damage buffs
Works well to support Yoruichi and Sajin
Similar concept to Yachiru but focused on Strike instead of Slash
These A-tier units are perfectly fine for progressing through early and mid-game, especially in free-to-play setups, but you will eventually replace them with stronger SSR cores and better support units.
B Tier Example
Chad (SR – Strike / Full Assault)
Has a cool ultimate and thematic kit, but his gameplay is awkward
Loses HP when you hold his skill, making him high-risk
His kit revolves around losing HP for damage, then healing with his ultimate, which sounds interesting but is clunky in practice
Chad is more of a flavor pick than a practical meta option.
