This Azure Latch Ranked & QOL Update delivers a major shake-up to Ranked, introduces proper seasonal rewards, and adds new layers of skill expression to two of the most popular strikers: NEL Isagi and Nagi. If you care about climbing the ladder, earning seasonal cosmetics, or mastering advanced movement tech, this update is worth studying closely.
NEL Isagi Changes
NEL Isagi receives a major upgrade that transforms how players approach off-ball positioning and flow activations.
Additional Off-Ball Flow
NEL Isagi now has a completely new off-ball flow option. It triggers whenever the conditions for Steal Flow are not met, which means you no longer lose momentum if the scenario isn’t ideal for a steal. The biggest takeaway is consistency: you have more frequent access to flow windows, making Isagi far more adaptable in both offensive and defensive transitions.
New MVP Variant
A new NEL Isagi MVP version is now available. With this update, NEL can potentially access four unique flows in total. Expect this version to become a meta-defining pick due to its expanding ceiling for creative playmaking.
Nagi Changes
Nagi’s kit has been reworked to deepen his movement mix-ups and reduce some of the excessive value players were getting from Zero Reset Turn.
Trick (T-Special)
Nagi’s new T-Special, Trick, allows him to perform a fake volley without having the ball. He is still allowed to receive a pass during the animation, turning it into a deceptive movement tool.
Key uses for Trick:
• Cancels tackle fatigue when timed correctly
• Can be chained with off-ball moves to create advanced movement layers
• Works as a mind-game tool to bait defenders into committing early
A standout technique is using Trick during the windup of Zero Reset Turn. This results in a backwards dash that can open space for a counter-movement, passing lane, or shot setup.
Adjustments and Visuals
• Ground control on Zero Reset Turn backdash velocity has been toned down to reduce instant reposition abuse
• Roulette Volley now shifts the visual flow theme in a style similar to Shidou’s Big Bang Drive, making scoring attempts more stylish and easier to track
Ranked System Overhaul
This update introduces the first fully structured Ranked system, complete with regions, monthly seasons, and end-of-season rewards.
Region Selection
You can now speak to the Ranked NPC to select from a list of regions. The system will queue you into the most active server with the lowest player count among your selected pool.
If you want to join a friend, you must enter through their profile for now, although a more flexible party system is confirmed for a future patch.
Ranked Seasons
Ranked now operates in monthly seasons on a UTC timer.
• One season ends and the next begins immediately
• At the end of a season, your rank drops by nine divisions to ensure a fresh climb
This system encourages consistent play, not one-time grinding. Returning players will get a prompt informing them of the previous season’s results when they join the game.
Rank Structure
The ladder now features a full progression system:
Unranked → Rank III → Rank II → Rank I → Grandmaster I
Promoting past Unranked grants a season title, which is removed when that season ends.
Master Strikers Leaderboard
The top 250 players in a season will appear on the Master Strikers leaderboard.
• Placement titles display season number and final leaderboard rank
• These titles are permanent, as long as you remained in top 250 when the season closed
This is the most prestigious form of Ranked recognition added to the game so far.
Ranked Rewards
Seasonal rewards are now distributed at the end of each Ranked season.
• All ranked players receive rewards based on final placement
• Master Strikers earn special prestige rewards
• Some items may be exclusive to a specific season, making participation essential for collectors
General Improvements and Fixes
A wide range of quality-of-life improvements arrived in this patch, targeting camera issues, emote abuse, flow audio, and unintended interactions.
Key highlights:
• Flow music now pauses during game freezes instead of muting
• NEL Isagi’s awakening no longer forcefully shifts your camera or teleports you
• Multiple Kunigami bugs fixed, including camera problems and Demon’s Contract cooldown issues
• Heroic Clash can no longer permanently disable opponents
• Barou’s Devour guarantees a save when grabbing a goalkeeper, unless it is an autogoal variant
• Chigiri’s Golden Zone interactions with Devour also corrected
• Emotes no longer interfere with movement, tackling, or collisions
• Dribble daily quest and tackle-fatigue sliding bugs resolved
• Fix applied to prevent flow steal moves from canceling autogoals
• 11v11 lighting issues caused by Nagi and Chigiri corrected
• Emote button activation timing now requires 0.5 seconds
These changes aim to stabilize gameplay and reduce unintended competitive advantages.
