The Alter Ego Alpha Access is now live, available for 25 Robux, and introduces four unique survivors — each with distinct abilities, passives, and team roles. While the game is still early in development, these initial survivors already offer diverse strategies and playstyles that can define how your team performs in a match.
This guide breaks down every survivor, their abilities, cooldowns, passives, and the reasoning behind their tier rankings (S–B tier). It’s designed to help you understand which survivors are worth mastering early in the game’s alpha.
1. Fjord – Sentinel Support (S Tier – Best Overall Survivor)
Difficulty: ★★★ (Hard)
Health: 120 (Highest in game)
Abilities
Slash
Charge forward and strike the killer, stunning them for 5 seconds.
Cooldown: 35 seconds.
Analysis: The strongest stun in the entire game. Five seconds is a huge window for escape or team saves.
Warrior’s Call
Raises sword and grants 20% damage reduction to all allies in a 10-stud radius for 10 seconds.
You are slowed by 15% during activation.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Analysis: Great for clutch team protection during endgame or rescuing downed allies.
Passive – Danger Sense
When the killer is near, a red marker and exclamation alert appear above your head, revealing the killer’s location.
Playstyle
Fjord blends offensive defense — a tanky, reliable survivor that can both protect teammates and buy time through her long stuns. She excels in team coordination and chaos control, especially in matches where the killer frequently chases.
2. Commander – Tactical Support (S Tier – Essential Team Role)
Difficulty: ★★★ (Hard)
Health: 100
Abilities
Survey
Scans the area to highlight nearest generators, killer, and survivors within an 18-stud radius for 15 seconds.
Cooldown: 20 seconds.
Analysis: Essential for team coordination and locating objectives efficiently.
Strength in Numbers
Grants 12% speed boost to self and teammates within an 18-stud radius for 10 seconds.
Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Analysis: Versatile mobility buff, perfect for generator teamwork or escaping during killer chases.
Passive – Leadership
Highlights all survivors in a 40-stud radius, helping maintain proximity and team communication.
Commander is the core of team synergy. The ability to reveal generators and the killer’s position constantly prevents wasted time and surprises. His frequent cooldowns make him a consistent support, ideal for speeding up team efficiency.
While not as individually strong as Fjord, the Commander is vital for coordinated play — every team benefits from having at least one.
Ranking: S Tier (Essential Support Role)
3. Noob – Balanced All-Rounder (A Tier – Reliable Solo & Team Survivor)
Difficulty: ★★ (Medium)
Health: 100
Abilities
Bloxy Cola
Slows you briefly while drinking, then grants +50 stamina and 15% speed boost for 10 seconds.
Uses: 3 per match
Cooldown: 45 seconds
Analysis: A powerful emergency mobility tool, allowing easy escapes without relying on vaults.
Slingshot
Aim and shoot a projectile to stun the killer for 3 seconds.
Cooldown: 45 seconds
Analysis: A simple but effective defensive stun that can also be used to rescue teammates.
Passive – Adrenaline
Upon exit gates opening, gain a 15% speed boost for 10 seconds.
Noob is the most beginner-friendly survivor with reliable tools for both self-preservation and teammate support. The stun + sprint combo can completely reverse a chase, and even though the passive is situational, it’s useful for endgame pressure.
A versatile pick that can fit any team composition. While his power ceiling isn’t as high as Fjord or Commander, his balance and simplicity make him consistently valuable.
4. Patient Zero – Stealth/Survival Specialist (B Tier – Great Solo, Weak Team Player)
Difficulty: ★★ (Medium)
Health: 80 (Lowest in game)
Abilities
Vital Mints
Slowly regenerate 7 HP per second for 5 seconds (total 35 HP).
Interrupted if hit by the killer.
Uses: 2 per match
Cooldown: 45 seconds
Analysis: Adds survivability but requires safe timing.
Dissociate
Become completely invisible for 10 seconds.
Cooldown: 40 seconds
Analysis: Excellent escape tool when used intelligently; broken if the killer loses track of you early.
Passive – Anxiety
Shows a directional noise indicator when the killer is nearby.
Patient Zero thrives when soloing objectives or evading the killer undetected. However, they offer zero support to the team — no buffs, stuns, or vision assists. In a team-focused game like Alter Ego, this limits their long-term value.
Even in its alpha state, Alter Ego already delivers a solid balance between solo survival and team coordination. While updates are expected to rebalance some of these abilities, mastering Fjord and Commander early gives you a massive advantage in the long run.
