The long-awaited Heroes Battlegrounds update is finally here, bringing a massive wave of content for players to explore — including new moves and finishers for Hawks (the Winged Assassin) and a brand-new Burst ability system that changes how every character fights.

In this detailed breakdown, we’ll cover all of Hawks’ reworked moves, the new finisher animations, and every Burst ability introduced in the latest patch.

Heroes Battlegrounds Hawks Moves Update: Finishers, Burst Abilities

Hawks (Winged Assassin) – Full Move

After months of teasers, Hawks’ base move set is finally complete, making him one of the most visually dynamic characters in Heroes Battlegrounds. Alongside his flashy air mobility, each of his core skills now includes unique finishers and improved VFX.

1. Twin Talons

This classic move remains part of Hawks’ identity, but it now comes with major upgrades:

  • New aerial variant: Hawks can now perform Twin Talons mid-air, adding vertical combo potential.
  • Cutscene Finisher: Executing Twin Talons as a finisher triggers a full cinematic animation where Hawks strikes down his opponent with flair.
  • Combos Well With Passives: When chained with other moves (especially Crimson Heaven), this move can activate Hawks’ new passive variants, rewarding proper timing.

2. Scarlet Dance

A brand-new addition to Hawks’ kit, Scarlet Dance unleashes a rapid barrage of slashes.

Excellent for close-range combos and chaining attacks.

Finisher Animation: A stylish finishing move where Hawks performs a spinning aerial strike that feels straight out of an anime cutscene.

Great for interrupting opponents or following up after Twin Talons.

3. Crimson Heaven

This move is both elegant and devastating. Hawks throws a flurry of crimson blades that deal continuous damage over time.

When enemies are hit, the knives stick and tick damage over a few seconds.

The Crimson Heaven Finisher reuses the iconic sneak animation from early leaks — Hawks finishes his opponent with an intense cinematic slash.

Acts as a setup move for passive chain combos (explained below).

4. Plume

A mobility-heavy attack that lets Hawks teleport and strike instantly, perfect for evasion or surprise engagements.

  • Can be used both offensively and defensively, depending on timing.
  • Includes its own finisher animation, further emphasizing Hawks’ flashy aerial fighting style.

Passive Ability Synergy

A hidden mechanic was introduced for Hawks’ combos:

  • Using Crimson Heaven, followed by Twin Talon (Aerial) or Plume, grants Hawks a passive buff.
  • Each follow-up triggers a different variant effect, giving bonus damage or movement enhancements.
  • Mastering these combo chains is key to maximizing Hawks’ burst potential in fights.

This system makes Hawks one of the most mechanically layered characters in the game, rewarding quick reflexes and combo precision.

New Burst Abilities

In addition to Hawks’ rework, the update introduced Burst mechanics for nearly every character (except Hawks for now). Bursts are unique, high-impact abilities that trigger under certain conditions — typically after taking enough hits from multiple enemies. Each character’s burst is different in style, range, and utility.

Here’s a breakdown of all known Bursts revealed in the update:

Warp Portal Burst

  • Instantly teleports you far away from combat.
  • Functions as a top-tier escape mechanic when being ganged up on.
  • Prioritizes survival over damage.

Human Architect Burst

Grabs all nearby enemies and throws them simultaneously.

Excellent crowd control ability, disrupting groups during team fights.

Full Throttle Burst

A high-speed leg grab move that sends the opponent flying across the arena.

Great for single-target punishment.

Decaying Hatred Burst

  • Slams the ground with destructive force, dealing AoE damage.

Can be used both offensively to catch enemies and defensively to push them back.

Explosion Hero Burst

  • Creates an explosive blast when surrounded by enemies.
  • Primarily a get-off-me tool for escaping 2v1 or 3v1 situations.

Split Ice Burst

  • Freezes everyone within range for a short duration.
  • One of the most powerful control-type Bursts currently in the game.

Azer Flames Burst

  • Creates a burning zone that deals continuous tick damage.
  • The mastery variant of Azer Flames amplifies the burn effect and extends the duration.

Hero Slayer Burst

  • Summons a cinematic barrage of strikes.
  • The mastery version adds a unique visual where the hero blocks bullets mid-animation — one of the best-looking bursts in the update.

Deku Burst (and Vigilante Mastery)

  • Deku dashes forward before releasing an electric shockwave.
  • The Vigilante variant acts like a smoke bomb, providing both offense and evasion.
  • While not the strongest burst, it fits Deku’s combat style perfectly.

Visual and VIP Updates

Secondary Color System: VIP users can now add secondary colors to their VFX, allowing for custom attack color combinations.

New Emotes and Balancing: The update introduces fresh emotes and numerous balancing tweaks across all heroes.

The Heroes Battlegrounds update not only completes Hawks’ moveset with incredible finishers and combos but also adds an entirely new layer of depth with the Burst system. Each hero now feels more unique and expressive in combat, giving players a reason to experiment and master different styles.

Hawks currently stands as one of the most polished and visually impressive characters in the game, and with his Burst ability still on the way, players can expect even more exciting updates in the near future.
