As the re-release of Bloodlines approaches, understanding which clans are worth investing your time in is more important than ever. Each clan offers unique advantages in combat, progression, and utility. Some are exceptional for solo players, while others shine in squads or late-game content. In this guide, we’ll walk through every major clan, explain why it’s strong or weak, and help you make the right choice when choosing your next bloodline.

Otsutsuki Clan

The Otsutsuki clan stands at the very top of the tier list for one main reason: it offers the highest flexibility and build potential in the entire game. Members of this clan can unlock access to the Five Paths of Pain, which allows them to explore multiple powerful build paths that no other clan can match. On top of this, Otsutsuki players benefit from unique blood weapons that increase blood proc frequency, giving them a massive advantage in both sustained and burst damage fights. Their armor also grants additional regeneration, making them tanky and sustainable in prolonged combat. If you are looking for a clan that can do it all—support, DPS, and utility—while staying relevant throughout all stages of the game, Otsutsuki is the strongest pick.

Hyuga Clan

The Hyuga clan is another top-tier choice and arguably the best clan for solo players. Its defining feature is the Byakugan, which may receive a Stage 4 enhancement in the re-release. The Byakugan is incredibly efficient to progress, especially when compared to other ocular powers like the Sharingan. Players can unlock its potential simply by mastering perfect blocking, making it ideal for those who prefer to grind on their own without a group. Once unlocked, Hyuga’s signature skill, 64 Palms, delivers devastating close-range damage while also draining chakra. This makes it an excellent counter to speed builds or chakra-dependent enemies. Overall, Hyuga is simple to use, deadly in close combat, and extremely efficient to progress.

Uzumaki Clan

The Uzumaki clan excels at one thing: completely shutting down opponents. Players who choose Uzumaki gain access to powerful sealing techniques and chain abilities that allow them to stun-lock enemies with minimal effort.

These chains automatically put enemies into combat, making them easy to track and follow up on. Once sealed, opponents are rendered helpless, and the Uzumaki player can follow up with free damage. What makes this clan even more frustrating to face is that you don’t need rare artifacts to unlock its core mechanics—the sealing and stunning tools are part of the base kit. For players who enjoy controlling fights, disabling enemies, and dominating in PvP scenarios, Uzumaki is an incredibly strong and low-effort choice.

Lee Clan

The Lee clan focuses entirely on physical combat and offers some of the highest raw damage potential in the game. Players in this clan receive a 50% bonus to their melee damage, which means their basic attacks hit much harder than anyone else’s.

This makes Lee an excellent option for players who prefer close-range, Taijutsu-based builds. The clan also has a built-in synergy with Fire-based and Taijutsu skills, creating extremely effective combos. Additionally, Lee clan characters begin the game with Taijutsu already unlocked, giving them a strong early-game advantage.

One of the standout abilities of this clan is the use of Eight Gates, which can provide a window of near-invincibility during battle. If you’re new to the game or simply want a high-impact melee build, the Lee clan is a strong and user-friendly option.

Iio Clan

The Iio clan offers a fair balance of stats and power, but it comes with a major drawback that makes it hard to recommend, especially for solo players. Characters from this clan often become high-value targets in the game world because of their eyes. Other players may frequently attempt to kill or “grip” you just to steal your abilities. This creates a hostile experience for solo players who are trying to progress peacefully. Combat logging becomes a common issue, and progression feels slow and punishing unless you have a squad to back you up. If you do have friends playing with you and can protect each other, the Iio clan has decent potential, but it is not recommended for players going at it alone.

Bug Clan

The Bug clan is one of the more overlooked clans in the game, but it offers a surprisingly effective kit. Its primary strength lies in chakra drain and passive damage over time, which are especially useful against fast-moving enemies and lightning users.

The no-chakra tick mechanic can stun opponents and shut down builds that rely on spamming high-speed abilities.

While it may not have flashy one-shot combos, the Bug clan excels at controlling the flow of a fight and wearing down opponents over time. It’s a smart choice for players who prefer a strategic and slower-paced combat style.

Senju Clan

The Senju clan has traditionally been considered a strong choice due to its connection to Earth-style abilities, but in the current meta, its usefulness is very situational. Earth damage is relatively strong right now, so the Senju clan benefits from that synergy.

However, outside of specific builds or alt accounts designed for unlocking advanced powers like Rinnegan, Senju doesn’t offer anything uniquely game-breaking.

It can be a solid pick if you have a clear build path involving Earth damage or plan to use it for progression shortcuts, but it isn’t as strong overall compared to other clans in the re-release meta.

Lightning Clan

The Lightning clan falls into the middle of the pack. It doesn’t have any major weaknesses, but it also lacks standout strengths. Its main advantage is the ability to use Purple Lightning, which provides speed boosts and improved damage.

While it can be effective in combat and works well with certain high-mobility builds, it doesn’t offer anything that pushes it into the top tier. This is a solid, stable pick for new players who want a manageable learning curve without the pressure of mastering complex mechanics.

Zetsu Clan

The Zetsu clan currently sits at the bottom of the tier list. It lacks damage, versatility, and progression potential. The abilities are uninspired and ineffective in the current version of the game, and there is no real reason to choose this clan unless you are doing a challenge run or want to roleplay.

In many ways, it resembles the “Scroom” race from Rogue Lineage—an intentionally underpowered option meant for those who want to make things harder for themselves. For most players, this clan should be avoided.

Clan Name Strengths Recommended For
Otsutsuki Diverse builds, blood weapons, regeneration, top-tier power All-rounders, late-game focused players
Hyuga Easy solo progression, chakra drain, strong PvP Solo players, defensive fighters
Uzumaki Sealing, stun chains, easy to use Aggressive PvP players, squad leaders
Lee High melee damage, Eight Gates, beginner-friendly Melee-focused players, new players
Iio Decent stats, high risk of being hunted Squad players with protection
Bug Chakra drain, anti-speed builds Tactical players, crowd control lovers
Senju Earth synergy, good for alt accounts Meta-specific builds, advanced setups
Lightning Purple lightning speed buffs Beginners, balanced all-rounders
Zetsu None (underpowered overall) Challenge runs, roleplay players only

If you’re just starting out or rerolling in the re-release of Bloodlines, here are the best clans to target based on your preferred playstyle:

  • Choose Otsutsuki if you want full versatility and powerful tools across all builds.
  • Pick Hyuga if you’re playing solo and want something efficient and PvP-ready.
  • Go with Uzumaki if you like aggressive, controlling playstyles that dominate fights.
  • Consider Lee if you’re new and want a simple but powerful melee setup.

Avoid the Zetsu clan unless you’re intentionally making things harder for yourself.
